Im just wondering what set-ups have work well on the Phazer?
Im 230, 6'2" and enjoy agressive rough trail riding with some off trail.
Coming off a 03 RX1 to the Phazer is going to be a bit of a change.
Was hoping someone had a good set up on the shock and rear skid adjustments, such as preload, dampening, transfer and limit straps.
Any info would be greatly appriciated!
All the info on here help me quite alot on the 03.

Forgot to say Im on an 07 FX

Dido, I have a couple RX1's and just bought a Phazer GT for the wife. I'm thinking that might be a fun sled on some of the twisty, poorly groomed trails about an hour east of my home where I ride with some of the guys from work. I'm hoping there is a way to easily convert form a 120 lb wife set up to a 230 lb aggressive rider.

Good luck . You will spend way too much money to get the suspension stiff enough. I weigh 165 and have everything set as stiff as it will go. Still constantly bottoming out. You will have fun on this sled on a trail, but that is where the fun will end. This sled is fun , it just needs more power.

You're probably not getting much play on this as it seems to be a pretty big subject of debate. Mr. Sled had his dialed in pretty good then went ahead and put on the Hygear suspension upgrades.
Personally, mine is stock and I have my rear preloads set at max on both the front shock and the torsion springs. From there I just played with the clickers until I found something that worked for me. I've seen posts where people pulled in the limiter and others where they let it out, I left mine alone.
I'm 6'4", weigh 250 lbs.
Good luck and have fun.

Hopefully you've read the link to Mr. Sled's review of his Hygear upgrades http://www.totallyamaha.com/snowmobiles ... phazer.htm
One of the key points in that write-up is how the Phazer suspension seems to work best when you're standing and/or riding it like an ATV. I think too many people try to get this sled to perform like a traditional sit-back sled and end up disappointed. Riding style is the key to making the Phazer perform and that's very difficult to communicate by text.
RedRX1, regarding switching the GT for the wife, you'll want to have a 22mm socket and extension to adjust the torsion spring block. The supplied wrench does work but it's a finger pincher when the block goes over center and smacks into other parts of the skid. My wife just tells me to set it up for her and leave it alone because I've got my own sled to break.
Merry Christmas and good riding to everyone.

SledderSteve, Your wife sounds like mine!! It's just that there are trails around here that suit that type of sled better than my Rx1
