Hi All,
I've been riding an 06 apex for a few years and was very happy with it. I am upgrading to a 2012 Nytro XTX and picking out the upgrades I want, one thing I would like is moutain skis, so when I go off trail I don't dive down into the snow. I mostly ride trail and I am very happy using the snow trackers on my skis, just want more flotation. I am looking at th new MT9 skis, my question is do I need a ski mounting kit? The dealer threw that into the cost, its like $280, I haven't read anywhere that I would need this...all I find is buy the skis and you need a longer bolt. Any help would be great.

Also any other updates recommended? I think I narrrowed it down to a trail tank, oft relocator (do I need this for 2012?), 2" pivot risor, set of ice scratches, tall windshield / wind deflectors...

Thanks!
Woodzy

How tall are you? I have the relocator and its perfect for me standing, im 6'3" too. Might want to hold off on the riser or you might have ape hangers. Might want to ask the mountain guys for those skis......Might want to think about excell X wheels and a yamaheater too.

I've seen those MT9's in person, they're huge! Slydog and C&A Pro both make great mountain skis, I just picked up a pair of C&A MTN's for my XTX.

Thanks for the advice on the riser, I'll try the relocater first as I've read alot of good things about it. On the wheels, I thought yamaha already put bigger wheels to stop the slider wear? And also the heated grips, I thought they fixed that too. My apex heaters sucked!!

I looking for a cheap upgrade to mountain skis, but if I need a $280 mounting kit it is no longer cheap and I will end up looking aftermarket. Although I want to use snow trackers and I'm not sure they have them for the aftermarket ones.
