Please snow soon, please.....my wife thinks I am crazy, lol. I can't wait to get the Attak on the snow.
I have doing so much reading on TY..this site really is an awesome resource. I want to ride it first but i am thinking Pilot ski upgrade is my first "mod". Is there a market for stock ski's??

gp I bought the same sled with 1400 miles and I switched from a yam viper to the Attak. I hope I love it too! I have to change the oil today and polish and wax on this rainning day. I also have a skid plate to add soon. What extras are you going to do to the sled?

I think for now...beside ski's and handguards(I have a set of the Race series Heat Loc's)..I am just going to ride it for a bit and see what I think it needs. Maybe changes to appearance....skid plat, decals etc. Nothing fancy...I am more of a cruiser in stock form than a tuner/racing rider. But i have been known to take a blast or 2 across a frozen lake.....so looking forward to the first time I can do that with the Attak
.

gp300rider the stock skis really have a bad rap while it's really the rubber isn't thick enough on the back side which causes the front of the ski keel to dig in too much which causes the darting. If you read up about the ski shim mod and do that you'll be saving yourself some dough. I can't believe how much difference there is in the handling with the shim mod and some StudBoy Shaper bars on my Attak. Just my .02 though .

I have to agree in the ski's, they just are not as bad as people make them out to be. I wouldn't waste the money on after market skis. Buy some Bergstrom triple points, shim the ski-rubber in the rear and try the stock boards. I rode the Vector all last year without shimming or stud boy deuces and darting was not an issue. On my APEX I went to shims, ski-savers and triple points immediately so can't wait to try it out. The Vector got 3/8" shims a few weeks ago, and when snow base builds up, I'll add the stud boy deuces and report back.

So really...my first order of business is to drive the Attak and not change anything. Probably the smart thing to do. I used Bergstrom Triple Points and ski savers and shims on my F7 with stocks skis.

185 without gear. Been told by more than a few that Bruce is a good guy to talk to about the shocks.
