Never really had a chance to try my sled on a longer run. Yesterday while up north we were racing on Harrison Av. Road was snow covered with a ice base. Maybe 1" of snow. I was racing a friends SX 700 all done up, pipes, ported, heads, bored carbs and so on. My 05 pulled about 5-6 sled in low and mid range then he seemed to stay about same distance on top end. I decided to let mine run a little longer and he backed off. Not sure how far it was but I hit 121 mph on DM. It was not done but that is the longest pull I have made with it. Decided to back out before I created a problem. Probably would have been fine. I also had several pulls that I hit 115-116 mph while running my buddies turbo. These were on roads with a little more snow and Houghton Lake, not topped out, just that the turbo went by and no sense staying into it.
I was very happy with speed sense most of my settings are for drag and not top end. Full transfer, limiter strap in last hole, not lowered 4 boggie wheels with bad bearing, I had to order them. I am sure the 23 tooth gear helped. We had a great time.

Yeah I was up there on my 05 also and was seeing 119 to 120 on the plowed roads. The snow seemed to change from Wed to Sunday though as temps warmed up from -7 to almost 40 on Sunday. Saturday on Lake Sunday in Wakefield I couldn't get 110 on the lake, but niether could any of my buddies.

I show right around 110 on ideal conditions, a nice packed trail on a lake, though I'm still chasing a under-revving issue. Cleaning the coils helped, using 87 gas helped, but I'm still only getting 10k. I suspect one of the carb diaphragms is a little loose, since if you rev it w/o the airbox you see the third carb in(from left side) sometimes misses shooting the fuel spray.

It could be faster, but realistically I rarely ever go much over 80 so I don't really care that much about changing gears or modding up the clutches.

The nice thing is with the 4s motors is that you don't have to worry about them blowing up at WOT, since 2s tend to lean out and heat up.

My 03 with ECP and some clutching saw 128 on the dream meter once, have seen it in the low 120's many times it stays right with an apex if he lets me get a rolling start lol. most days i will see anywhere from 106 to 116 unless I have a long run on the lake then she see's the bigger numbers. These machines are plenty fast even if they are old : )

How does the 05 compair to your 03?
Bruce

03 is definitely faster even before I added the ECP and clutching it was quicker. The 05 is the wifes but I put the 1st 2500 miles on to break it in for her : ) I've never seen 120 on that one although I don't ride it too often anymore since i have the 03 setup just the way i want it now. I think that one topped out on the lake at about 116 on a good day!
