I had to post again as I rode again this weekend and got even more frustrated. I rode with a guy who has an '05 F-7. Last year he'd beat me out of the hole, but around 100 mph I'd creep past him. This was when I had my sled stock. I ran him again now and he passed me top end. I was just as good out of the hole, if not better. The only mods he did for this year was some type of fuel leaner (apparently, just some type of small mod where you can turn a screw to lean out your fuel?) My mods you can read below. The only other thing is I softened up the front shocks and stiffened up the rear shock by a couple settings. Other than that is my weight. Again, my rpm is 10,400-10,500 consistently. I'm assuming if my tach is reading that there shouldn't be anything wrong with my set up. It just doesn't seem to feel like the longer the distance the more it wants to keep climbing in speed like it did last year. Maybe it's because I get to the RPMs faster. Still my DM only reads 112 mph max. My '01 SRX seems to have no problem keeping up with my RX'1 now too. Not sure on top end, but I get the feeling it would probably pass it by too in a long run. My belt now has 1000 miles on it and is riding about even on the sheeves. I'm now wondering about an exhaust mod. Will it give me anymore top end?
The Mono Shock skid sucks up allot of top end, I could never get mine to shift all the way out on the clutches with the skid in there.
All the RX-1s came clutched the same, but you probably need to helix down with the Mono skid to shift out.
I swapped to a Warrior skid (ProAction) and went from the Ripsaw to a 1.375 paddle (longer track with longer lugs) which should have at up MPH, but I gained 14mph on the speedo.
