Got a buddy that checked with 2 different dealers for a 2010 vector, but both dealers told him they didn't know if they were going to be "alocated"any! What the hell is this about? NO spring order? Why would they ration out such a popular sled?Anyone else heard of this? Jay

Same here.. Yamaha scandinavia will not offer the 2010 vector.

Maybe they are just trying to get rid of all apex chassie they have in store..? If so, I guess this is the last year we will see any "new" sled from yamaha in this chassie.

my dealer was only allocated 1 but he is try for 2 but ordered a whack 09 they can get them for 15% dealer net

Explain please.

I thought 15% off MSRP was the norm for dealer cost.

ALLOCATIONS ARE BASED ON PREV SALES. YOU CAN BE ALLOCATED 1, BUT STILL GET MORE THAN THAT.

He is saying 15% of dealer cost not msrp

Sorry to appear thick but this seems unlikely to me.

So you say he is saying as an example that Yamaha is selling dealers a sled they used to pay $10,000 for $1,500 now?

Or is the word "off" missing and he means they are now paying 85% of dealer net?

if the dealer paid 10000 you pay 8500 or 15% off dealer cost

I don't think the Vectors are selling well at all, at least not in Michigan. Last year I didn't see a single other DBII Vector on the trails. This year I saw 2. Every Vec I see is in the DBI chassis, and every DBII sled I see is an Apex variant. Plus, if they really are drastically scaling back their snomo operations or shutting down production all together after 2010 I guess this makes sense. It seems like most people shopping for a 120hp model are looking at the Polaris 600's or even DOO's, or moving up to the Nytro platform with Yamaha, or even picking up a left-over Apex for the same price they would have paid for a Vec in the fall. I saw more limited production Cat Z1 Turbo SnoPros (they made 500) on the trail this year than all 2008-2009 Vectors combined!

No need to buy an '10, you can get an '09 Vector LTX's in Maine for $8K! Best deal on the snow. Fuelie would be nice though.
I'll agree w/Metallicat, they don't seem to sell well despite being an awsome sled @ a bargain price. Wouldn't be surprised to see it disappar from the lineup.

cost on 09's for the dealer is 15% off of msrp. normal is about 8%. this does not take into account other factors - profit reserve etc.

I'm sure the dealers can get them, they just don't want to buy anything now because of the bad economy. Its a good story they tell, so they can jack the price up when they do order one and make you think its something rare and special.

finally some one thinking clearly

BINGO......finally a clear thinker! Couldn't agree more!

you cant get a 2010 right now. all your dealer can do is order for october delivery. the new model sleds are not even being built yet. except for the "test and show units" my dealer sold evry 2009 Yamaha sled that he ordered over the summer and several more than that. he has one 2009 sled on the floor. its a polaris . yamaha is playing the same dollar verses yen game that honda and suzuki are playing.
