I have a 2007 RTX like the way the windshield looks and don't mind it while off trail but on trail at higher speeds it just get cold. These are the two im looking at. Looking for opinions on who has run either and what they thought?

The first one will give you no more protection than you have now. The second will help a little but is still on the lower side

I hear ya Need for Speed i agree it is one cold ride. I only notice it while riding groom trails when your at the constant higher speeds. My main riding is off trail boondocking and the stock windshield works fine for that even the groom trails in lower michigan. Im mostly going to be using it for the U.P. Its to bad they couldn't have put some vents on the side panels to let some heat roll up on you. I am leaning toward the yamaha windshield being it looks to have more protection.

If you go with the Yamaha windshield I have that same one brand new. I decieded on the 07 GT windshield after I purchased the black one. If your interested $50 plus shipping.

- None, looking now!
I had one like the bottom link. It was to noisy for me. I'm just at the right hight where the wind hit me directly in the helmet. It was really load at higher speeds. It was a little warmer, tho.
I just run the lower ones and dress for the weather. lol

I bought 1crazy's wind shield and agree the wind hits me in the helmet. (low Yamaha not original 06) but does keep my chest and shoulders a little warmer.
I am planning on going to a medium. What do people think of the cold weather rididng any better?

The stock Apex er windshield is pretty good for me on colder days, but in warmer moist air, the 2 indentations on each side of the middle, funnel water right at my sheild. It's about 2 inchs higher than the second one above.

Did you ever think about buying a warm Yamaha jacket? I do most of my riding standing on my 2007 attak gt, and I never get cold

I already have all the gear. I was just looking for something that gets some wind off me in the really cold weather while riding the groom trails in the U.P. I bought the windy from Throttle Jockey and im going to see how that works.
