New XTX Exhaust Question... And some other stuff

Brought my 2012 XTX hold over a couple of weeks ago. I took it off the trailer yesterday and started tearing into it.
1. Installed a set of the new tuner skis, they look great and much more aggressive then the stockers, they are also a great deal.
2. Marked and drilled the track for 114 1.450 Studboy's and the new Studboy digger insane looking backers. They suck to install, but they look mean!
3. Started to install a PowerMadd 3" piviot riser and discoved I can't find it... Got the piviot, no riser?
4. Installed my 14.5mm Rollers and a Yellow-Pink-Yellow spring in the primary.
5. Hooked up a Battery Tender so I can fire it up for the first time!
6. Got ahold of my sticker guy to start thinking about the wrap! Gonna do the tunnel on this one also.

So this is my exhaust question. I hate the stock exhaust tone, it is just to quiet for my style. On my '09 XTX I had a MBRP can and liked the tone, it was just a bit loud for the guys riding behind me, and me too to be honest. At WOT going accross the lake it was a bit much. I am looking at a Skins Super Q Under Tunnel Kit, does anyone know how this compairs to the MBRP? Also, on the install do you have to remove the tunnel protectors? I am going to do some sort of under tunnel as I want a rack for overnight gear.

Have you thought about the SDR undetunnel exhaust? I have the bakers can now which is much like what you discribed about the mbrp exhaust, and if I was to do it all over again SDR would get my money.

Have you looked at the SDR under tunnel? He has a kit specific for your sled and for running studs too. Might be a good option for you

I looked at the SDR, but I'm not big on cutting the header to make it work. The Skins can go back to stock pretty easy if need be.

Under tunnel anything will be a bit quieter. Why not a DIY under tunnel? Hindel makes an 8" shorty muffler that will fit nicely under the tunnel. I've done 3 nytro's and the most expensive part was the muffler you choose. Just heat and bend the header pipe so that you can block off the tunnel with a plate. There is a thread either under this one or the mtx nytro category with a lot of suggestions for DIY tunnel dumps.

I just replied to your post in the mountain section, and yes I removed the tunnel protectors but I have the 1.75" back country track. I'd suggest removing them anyway, they hold a lot of snow and ice.

Probably not he best thing to do with all them prickly things in track!

Hope you took into consideration of the center shock eyelet and how close it run to the track and your studs down the center. The folks that had studded my track previous owner didn't and it wore on that shock eyelet and had to purchase a new shock last year and took studs out. You will love the Nytro I built my own exhaust and used a magnaflow muffler mounted in the stock location would even know it was there sounds great.

This is the same pattern I used on my last XTX and it cleared the shock just fine. It also has a lot to do with what backer you are running. If you get a backer that is convexed on the back side you can suck that stud up enough so that it is flush with the track and shouldn't have a problem. Thanks for the heads up
