I was all geared up to take the plunge this week and purchase a new 07 phazer gt, but after reading so many horror stories on here tonight , I am really having some serious second thoughts. Are these machines really that bad? I like the Idea of a 4 stroke and have a yamaha kodiak that has been trouble free since new in 05 . Iam new to sledding and don't want to buy a machine thats gonna nickel and dime me to death. any advise is appreciated. I am 45 yrs old and am not the type who beats up on my hard earned toys.
Just have the updates/recalls done and you will love it. It is a great machine. I have had everything done but the "link" they won't replace it untill it fails.

I have roughly 1400 on mine. I haven't replaced the link or done the recals and mines fine. Dont worry about. Remeber, anything that breaks can be fixed. Its a yamaha. ride with pride!
If you are purchasing new most issues will be done before it leaves the showroom if not done already. Some of us owners who have had to go through all the issues just get angry mostly over loss of time and the repeating of bringing it back to be fixed. You wont have to deal with that since it will all be done in one shot.As a group many of us are also "enthusiastic"riders it is hard not to be since the Phazer is so much fun to go through bad stuff fast on.Nobody has to go faster through the rough. We never used to.So depending how you ride the suspension may be just fine.If its not you can be fairly confident the 08 parts fix it.There are so many what ifs with any machine it really is better to just let the dealer worry about the what ifs and go have fun.Thats what we pay for.

One thing to remember about anything you read on a forum is that the people who are unhappy make the most noise because the feel the need to vent, whereas the people who are happy tend to not say much because they are happy and dont feel a need to vent.
You can buy any sled and have issues with it, but if you read some of the posts on here and other forums, you will find that the vast majority of Phazer owners are very happy.

thanks for putting my mind at ease , now for the next ? is there much performance diff between the the long track model and the gt? does that little 80hp motor have what it takes to turn that big track?

07 GT's generally have fewer issues than the FX's
If you mean Mountain lite 144 or GT the engine will do just fine. Keep in mind that the tall lug mountain track will not last long if you are only ridding groomed trails.

You're gonna love it once you have it dialed in.
Takes a little time to get the 4 stroke motor braking feel, but this sled will rock!
Congrats, and welcome to the Phazer family.

Cool! Now go find the worst beat up trail you can find and be prepared to be amazed.
