NO FOG works awesome. I just bought another type of mask at the NOVI show.

It is a neoprene mask that looks like an old goalie mask. Just 2 holes at the eyes and some slits at the mouth and nose and some really cool red flames that match my RTX!

It was $12 but I have not seen them up here yet.

Guys using the NO-FOG...do you have a breath box in your helmets and does the NO-FOG fit or do you not have a breath box?

You do not need a breath box with a NO FOG. The only place you would feel any cold would be the corner of your eyes (when it is really COLD).

Last year I bought a SLED ED beleclava and that worked great.

Here is a pic of the new mask that I bought:

MX Helmet

I use an Arai MX helmet with Smith Googles. Never had problems. Watch out when lakes or big fields. Keep head down. When it is real cold I use No Fog. If helmet has a breath deflector shouldn't need a No-Fog. It should fit under if you want to use.

Is there a company or something that that item can be ordered if one so chooses?

I run a Fly Racing helmet with a breath deflector from my old AFX MX style helmet. IMHO the Breath deflectors designed to fit in the chin bar are better that no fog masks. I had a fog evader brand no fog mask and the nose part on it would get pushed in from the chin bar of my AFX mx style helmet making me gasp for breath. No two MX helmet brands have the same clearance between your face and the chin bar (AFX has one of the lower clearances) so a no fog mask will work on some. I would say before waisting the money, put your helmet on and make sure you have at leat 2" of room to avoid the same issue I had.

As for balaclavas; I have tried several brands (arctiva, Klim, Polaris brand) and found the best one is a Psolar HX found here http://www.exmask.com/psolarhx.html.

For the breath deflector I use which slide down between the chin bar and neoprene lining go herehttp://www.denniskirk.com/jsp/produ...=301&productId=p325321&leafCatId=30102&mmyId=. The squared part slides down to block the vent hole and the curved part conforms to your nose and cheeks keeping your breath away from you goggles to prevent fogging yet also allows you to breath. Some Helmet companies also make their own (Fly doesn't that I've found) custom fit for each model of helmet. I'm sure HJC is one that does.

In this picture you can just see my breath deflector stuck in the chin bar of my Fly Racing helmet along the bottom of my Oakley goggles. It's the part not white from snow sticking to it because it's got a polymer coating over the neoprene.

Here in Fairbanks, AK I ride consistantly in some well below zero temps. I've tried many things to hide the cracks the wind will find. What I ended up with is a modified "No Fog". I cut out the neoprene mesh over the mouth and nose, took it to a local buisness that makes custom winter gear and for about $25 they sewed on some windproof fleece around the bottom for neck protection and replace the mesh I cut out with the same material, (up to the bottom of my nose). I found a windproof fleece hat at Wal-Mart for about $6 and presto, No wind burn, comfortable, and goggles don't fog. I'm using an HJC CLX-4 helmet, but this should work with any MX style. Although I did discover no matter how well you dress or modify, nothing works for -20 riding like my Doo Modular. But for warmer days and the mountains I stick to the MX. If anyone is interested I'll take post some pics.
