No Dynojet carb kit coming for the RX-1 at this time.

SS, it has been a prevalent rumor from the Arctic Cat crowd ever since the RX-1 came out. Yes, it would have some serious power but Arctic would have to go back to the drawing board and build a new frame to house such power.
Yamaha has the FJR1300 now. The motor sure looks like a R-1 motor and has just a few more ponies than the RX-1 in its current state of tune but has gobs more torque. Hum??? Would it fit right into our frame?

The needle, and the needle jet part numbers only fit the Rx models. It is possible that the needles fit other carbs, but I can't afford to order a needle set for every possible match

Yes, it's an area perhaps one or some of the aftermarket guys may delve into. I still have a set (at least I I think I do) of the PSI needles they made (or at least sold) for the 570 Exciter motor. In that case there was good reason to build needles. The sled kept burning down due to a very lean spot somewhere in the low to mid range.
With the RX-1 there doesn't appear to be a compelling reason to try other needles other than just to see if the response and performance can be improved (and those of us who are always looking for an edge).
What about these needles that are adjustable from outside the carb? I guess the only thing you could change with a setup like that would be the height of the needle in the carb. What we'd need is a needle profile change if anything. That's certainly got to be enough rambling.

This motor needs more than a needle change,to give u more power,i have played w/alot of needles over the past,on several types of sleds, both mod and stock, flat slide round slide and d slide and its only going to improve midrange, and just off idle, and just a little better gas milage while putting around 20-60mph once u pass the 1/2 throttle pos. u r more on main than pilots and jet needle/needle jet,i cant see any gain, unless it is falling on its face while trail riding at a specific speed. just my 2 cents if money is no object go for it. :)

At this point in time I'm just trying to convince one of the aftermarket guys to look into this unexplored territory. Maybe there is some room for improvement? Who knows? It's probably worth looking into for someone I'd guess. Powder Blue

I had hoped Dynojet would give me a call and say they'd send me a kit to "Test" for them. Nope! I will badger them a little more and hope for a little more knowledgable technician next time who I can convice to be a pawn in my evil plot :) Powder Blue
