How noisy is the primary clutch supposed to be? Mine sounds like a percolator at idle speed.
The noise seems to come out of the roller deals at the base of the weights. Is there a place to lubricate these things?

do not lube your clutch. Is it making a clickity clackity noise?? Like the technical sound of that?? If so there are bushings that go on the towers of the spider. They are worn out

Hell they come from the factory with that clickity clackity noise your talking about. Haven't heard and quite primary yet at idle except when given some rpm's.
Also not sure what you mean by towers of the spider??
:?

Thanks for the replies. I guess it is normal. It has been to the shop, not for that particular problem and the tech did not mention anything about it, although I swear (and I swear lot) that the noise it's getting louder, specially when the AC turbo is near by.

The AC-660 is a grocerycar engine. The clicketyclackety noise has been there since day one and I have had no problems with it cause when drivin its OK,only while idling.Adjust your idling rpm:s.

Mine has done it since day one so I doubt it's worn parts but maybe poor fitting parts. Noise dissapears as soon as it is of idle. If there is a fix I would like to know what it is also.

I've got an 03. Am I correct in assuming that the 04, and 05's do the same thing? If so, there probably isn't a cure. It's the design of the gear reduction, and we'll have to live with it. The carb balance idea probably will smooth the idle, and reduce it. I also think it gets louder with more miles. The only bad part is selling your machine, and convincing the buyer that the motor is not ready to blow up.

Jtssrx sorry to jump in there guy. ;)!

Here's the clutch broken down.

Item#10 are the tower sliders and you'll require 6
approx $5.00 ea.
