2013 RST90D Venture 973 cc carbs
Hi All- great forum!

Looking to purchase RS Venture 2013 studded, $7000 Ontario 6600K this weekend.
Non eps and 973 cc carb not fuel injection

I get that its kind of old tech now, but is this a good sled?
Most importantly- How hard is it to steer compared to GT with eps?
I understand it has aftermarket "deep snow skis" not sure of brand
I have a bit of a shoulder issue and would be riding 2 up quite often
Thanks

If you put snowtracker skags on they will make it steer easier.

I also make mechanical power steering kits for that model. You give up some turning radius but the steering effort is drastically reduced.

Here is a link to the kits on my website. You would need the delta box kit for that sled.

they are a good reliable sled with a few quirks but can be set to handle well in most common conditions.

I have a pre EPS. Venture GT and love it. I would love EPS on it butit is in no way a deal breaker for me. No one has ever complained to me it was hard to steer

I thought the EPS came in 2012 how can yours be NON EPS? Maybe I’m remembering the GTs

eps was only on the efi sleds. here in canada, they made the carb venture until the 2018 model year in canada.

Thanks that makes more sense, I would not fear at all not having EPS

Thanks everyone- I find that incredibly reassuring, however clearly those with eps love it! I'm also glad to see an active forum- can't wait to learn and soon share!

I rode a Venture for years, thought it was fuel injected. Awesome sled for riding 2up. It can get a bit tough to handle after a while, I would take Travis's suggestion and put on the mechanical power steering for some help. Unless you want to shell out $1600 for EPS from GSE...again its a reliable, comfortable and warm sled..if you get a good price and you want a 2up then go for it. I had a 2016 Venture Tf, had awful track drone between 32-37mph...the older Ventures didn't have the track drone fyi. Joe

Do Travis's MPS Mechanical power steering and drop in a few Fitch fuel catalyst in your gas tank .
After adding the Fitch I have had no problems with both of my Carb vectors .

good advise...they are great sleds...my wife and I would ride all day on a venture and then go out dancing...that's how comfortable those sleds are, nice ride.

Nice hearing this outside of product reviews. I've been running these in my Vector just because. Not sure I'll know if they really work but never skips a beat and purrs beautifully on first startup after sitting all Summer.

I agree the Fitch Fuel Catalyst works great. I first used one almost 20 years ago. Left a dirt bike at the in-laws farm for the winter. Came back in the spring and the gas in the tank was still fresh. This was by the smell test and how it started and ran. Carb of course. Then I put one in my sled. Maybe been fixed by now but the plastic cage fell apart. I now use Startron fuel enzyme treatment with the same results. When used I could go 3 seasons without cleaning carbs on my Cat 2 Stroke. I now use it on all my small engines and sleds for off season storage. I can’t take credit for learning this. Snowtech Magazine. Did a write up on it along time ago. Do not remember what they promote now. I just remember it is something different.
