North Bay / Canadian opinions needed

Is there any riding to be had in North Bay yet? By the looks of some of the weather cam's it looks fairly decent.

Not yet.....I was up there last weekend....all of the water is still open.

We did not even see anyone messing around in fields.

Haliburton forest openned up last weekend but only 100 km were ready, should be better this weekend they got more snow this week. I know the surrounding clubs are out packing the trails and trying to build up a good base to groom from.

N.B. getting snow today, maybe20 cms. Was alittle in north of province so should be able to hit logging roads and spur lines this weekend.

The probem with the North Bay and Muskoka region is the swamps and low lying areas that need real cold to freeze up and it has not happened nor is it in the forecast for the next week. Without these areas frozen and the lakes frozen the trails will not open.

they are calling for 10cm tonight in the Kawartha/Haliburton area, and possibly a couple more on Saturday. But you can't trust any ice on the small ponds or creeks yet, it's been pretty mild and allot of rain. Had a real good windstorm last couple of days that broke up any ice we did have on the larger lakes.

Been out 3 days in a row about 1 hour west of you in Sudbury. There was about 40 sleds out on one of the lakes we go too. about 15 minutes north of us in Capreol. So trailer on over!!! Also they are doing rader runs on whitewater this Sunday! Sweet!!! should be lots of guys out.
oh, and most importantly a few of the trails are decent but nothing groomed yet
