Hey,

Ran into you at Haydays if you remember I am the one who had an engine failure while using the nitrous. Well, I put the system back on today and was wanting to make sure that the jets where set right. This is a Holtzman 40 hp kit. I believe I was running very rich last time, they where set at 6 turns out. If I remember correctly you ran a 60 hp kit with the jets set at 4 turns out. If so where do you think mine should be set. I would appreciate the help.

Thanks,

Buck

i dont know about holtzman system, i run the boss noss. just wondering what sort of failure you had. lean, holes in pistion? rod? sorry to hear that.

I was burning a lot of oil with this engine before I even thought about putting the NOS on. But once I did I only went through a few bottles before I struck the rings on 2 cylinders and that was all. The engine still ran fine but started loosing oil through the crankcase vent. I think it was just a combination of a lot of things all at once. But hey its only money right!

RX Buck - With the 60 horse, (2 30 horse nozzles), I was at 5 1/4 turns out. I think we mentioned for your 40 horse, you should be good at 4 turns.

Here is what should be done to find the "Happy" point........

Turn your fuel nozzles to 5 turns, then go out and try it. It should bog a little, and then smoothen out. I turned them in a 1/4 turn at a time, until the bog was gone.

1 question for you, is to make sure there is nothing blocking the fuel jets in the carb boots. When I installed mine, I had to use a pliers to remove some of the rubber pieces, blocking off the fuel jet. I made sure by taking the needle all the way out, and shining a flashlight into the jet, and in the carb boot.
Just making sure everything is clean and clear from debris.

hey buck what year is your sled?

nos-pro we gotta hook up at one of the rides and line em up!!!!!

thinking of going to an after-market clutch set-up what do you guys think?
been playing with yamaha weights (adding), but was wondering what a different profile would do. junkie

Sounds good junkie, I have never seen the Boss Noss in action. Should be fun.

Aftermarket clutch setups are great, but might have to add weight to them for the nitrous, if you can. Haven't played with the Yamaha profile weights much, as the HH's are so adjustable.
