Guys,
I got an 07 RTX this year and can not decide where to put my NYS reggie stickers. Threes no real flat spot down low, and I really don't want to put them that high on the cowl. Also are there any laws on putting them on the removable panels? Where is everyone putting them? Any Pictures? Thanks for the help.

We put them on the tunnels on our 2007 Apex RTX, 2006 Apex GT, and 2005 Vector!
Right about where your boots would be when you're standing on the running boards.
I guess the registration numbers "might" be obstructed when you're riding it, BUT....
We've been through many checks by the local agencies, and as long as they can see that it's on the sled, they never said anything.
The sleds just look too nice to stick an ugly registration anywhere on the cowl or side panels.

I agree.

I live in central NY and I also just bought a brand new '07 APEX RTX and decided there was really no where to put the registration sticker, so I put it on the tunnel...right where your feet are when you ride.

put mine on side panel. took my time, cleaned surface well, warmed it up & rubbed on it. It's still there on it's 3rd winter.

I used numbers I bought off the net. They have been on for 2 years now. Technically NY wants 2" numbers....but won't fit. These are 1-1/2".
I have been stopped at check points 4 or 5 times, no problem. They will give you a hard time and tell you to put the sticker on if you use colored numbers and letters. If they are white, they told me ok.

No problem with them sticking.

Mine are on my tunnel as well, I know they are suposed to be in the front of the sled but I didn't want to put them there. No problems yet but I understand I may run in to that one problem officer.....

cwake22,
Please take a moment to update your profile with your location as this is a site requirement.'

Thanks,

Here is where I put my NYS Reg. The stickers fit right in there with a little bend at the top corner(s). Clean the surface well and heat it with a blow dryer.

Correct me if I am wrong but isnt it against NYS policy/rules to place the reg.stickers on the tunnel? I thought i read that here before.

Yes....not "supposed" to put it on the tunnel because the numbers will be obstructed by the riders legs. But then again I have been stopped at checkpoints with the numbers on the tunnel (on my old SRX) without comment from DEC, whereas, other officers at other checkpoints had told me they were not in the correct location and they had to be on both sides of the front cowl...but again, I never got cited for having them on tunnel.

I see some others are using custom number stickers of all different colors and sizes. Again, some officers will tell you that you must use the designated 3" x 6" white NYS sticker ONLY with the smaller correct annual registration sticker attached in the upper corner, while others will let you go with the better looking custom reggie # stickers.

Just like anything, I guess it depends who stops you on what particular day and what kind of mood they are in and if they want to give you a hard time or not.

I also have mine on the tunnel all the way back below the exhaust cones. I have been stopped told the officer that they fell off when I had them on the side panels.

I used what the DMV gave me but i cut a lot of the extra white of the sticker out and actually cut the "snowmobile" and "New York" parts out and put next to the numbers. it looks much better and didn't cost a thing. I put just above the side reflector at slight angle following the body line.
