My girlfriend is looking at buying a new Nytro and has been busting my balls on & off for the better part of a month now. I heard that they don't handle all that great and that they're more of a ditch banger.
She rides trails but she doesn't ride overly aggressive. Now she is riding an Apex. Would this be a good fit for her? If so, what track & model more specifically.
Thanks.

My advise would be to try and find a demo ride, if she likes being able to effortlessly cruise down the trails I don't think the Nytro would be for her. My wife gets off her vector to ride my Nytro and she just doesn't like the effort you have to put in while trail riding with it. It's always hard to now how each of us will respond but if you can find one set up from someone roughly her size she could put on a few miles and I think she will be able to decide right away. Good luck.

I agree with mazz. You have to climb all over it to make fly to down the trail. It's so much different then what she is riding.

The vector would be a good choice instead of a nytro.

My sister has a nitro fx and loves it over her husbands vector ltx gt , she likes the way she sits on it. Just put slim-jim runners pulled the handle bars back a little made it turn much easier also put adjustable couple blocks on to keep from to much ski lift, set suspension up soft works good but watch out cause she'll be flying by ya every chance she gets

The nytro is def a sled that needs body input to get it to handle. If your riding hard all day and throwing yourself into every corner it gets tiring especially with stock skis! My wife hates my nytro, from the reverse to the harsh clutch engagment to the body input it takes. I dont mind it because I am used to it and have the sled figured out.
Why dont you get her a viper?

My wife loves the rider forward, but hates the heavy steering and the tight corners.
IMO: If you're looking at going new, I'd look into the new Ace 900 that Ski-Doo makes now. That is what I am looking at for my wife. The Viper looks like a lot of fun, But I don't trust it yet.
If you are looking at something used, You could find a Phazer, Rev, or IQ pretty cheap these days and they are all rider forward.

get the xtx handles and rides better , steers good ,if too heavy steering go with smaller cabide but remember small tank 150 km max. and its colder because you sit high but i like it ,, vector ltx good all around sled with power steering better gas milage and range and warmer . but i like rider forward and have the xtx with 1.75 and find in handles well on trails and can play off trail

The viper is way more girl friendly...although when the wife rode the 2014 cats she rated the turbo #1, the new 600 cat #2 and the vipercat #3.
just to let you know...when I bought an RX-1ton earlier this year out of the blue and let her ride it....she said I could sell her vector....she loved the pull of the R-1....no wonder she liked the turbocat....LOL

Nytro
Have her ride a XTX and make sure its setup for her. You can't beat a nytro engine ,but you need to take the time to setup the suspension to work for you.

A smaller carbide (If short enough to lighten steering) adds push in the corners. I have over $2000 in R&D on this sled towards handling. I've hacked up 2 sets of A-arms and 2 sets of stock spindles. I am now running a modified set of SLP spindles to figure out this monster. The ONLY way this pig performs the way it's supposed to is by installing an aftermarket front end to move the spindles forward.

I wouldn't get her a nytro.....my wife hates it....besides if she does hate it you won't be able to give it away in a couple years.....I would stick with the apex or get her a doo or the viper is a good one you could paint it all up in pink and get her all pink gear

cuda....my wife like's riding my xtx for a little while (she rides a vector) but, I tweak the suspension setup for her so she can sit downand ride it like her vector, she doesn't ride fast (well within the trail speed limits). I have to run front shocks full soft compression and one click out from full on rebound and rear shock full soft also. if I do this she doesn't mind riding it for a while.... mine has oft steering relocator and she finds handle bars too tall for long rides, I ride standing most of the time and she doesn't like riding it with my setup (take 2 minutes on side of trail for the change). they will be giving away nytros very soon, wait and you'll get a killer deal on one.
