Hey guys, first post here. Bought a 2009 Nytro back in August, and while I love it so far, i ran into some trouble while doing a bulb replacement before my first ride in 2 days.

I was yanking out the old cheap HID kit the previous owner installed, and while i was installing halogens the tab that holds in the retaining pin for the bulb broke, rendering the assembly usless. To make matters work, the 1 bulb I had installed doesnt work.. any ideas on how this assebly comes out to replace it, and why the stock halogen and relay is not working? Searched the forum and stickys but could not find anything. Thanks,

Al

3 screws.. one on the top with a spring and 1 on each corner with pin. The top comes out easy. Just dont drop the spring. The bottom corner of the lights, you will need to pull the cottar pin and then remove the 2 jamb nuts and then pull the light housing. Take your time and don't drop the springs and pay attention to the gap of threads and the position so you can get the light back to that same point.

As far as the old HID light.. are you sure u removed everything and you are back to the harness?

Thanks, I will follow your instructions when my new housing comes in next week.

As far as the HIDs, I believe so.. I took out the bulbs, ballasts and wiring from ballasts leading to the bulbs.. was left with the 3 prong receptical. Plugged that into the bulb and started up the sled but got no light. I can snap a few pictures when I get a chance.

I would check the fuses over by the battery.

Hey Mrsled, fuse was blown, replaced the headlight fuse and the one light that is hooked up worked for a couple minutes and went out, suspecting a blow fuse again.

Sounds like you might have a short in your harness. Place to look is where the harness goes under the bars and above the tank.. pull that all back. I had wires all rubbed thru in the spot blowing my headlight fuse.

Will do when I get home. I have a trail tank and OFT steering relocator if that makes any difference

That wont make a difference. Its the way the harness was routed from the factory. You will have to tape it up and then add some loom over the top of the repair.

Great, thanks. I left the sleds up North (Nytro is a blast, by the way!). Hopefully I can get up there this week to do some work.

There seems to already be loom over the wires where they exit the light housing past the steering column going up the handle bars by gas tank
