Not sure if my AF gauge is wired improperly but I keep getting the NEW AEM air fuel gauge reading dash marks...
Seems somewhat stable at lower RPMs but higher it turns to dash's
I have a 09 XTX with a stage one MPI kit running 5lbs of boost at sea level on 92 octane...anyone have a clue what my fuel setting should be as a base line?
Also, where do the rest of you guys wire the power in for a the AF guage.
Thanks!

What kind of gauge are you using? A pro-logger or just a standalone gauge? And are you running the GEMS unit for the fuel controller? Need to know what you are working with.

I have the supplied Fuel Controller (GEMS i believe) and a New AEM Wideband gauge...stand alone.
I rode it tonight and it seems ok and then it starts reading funny..and eventually goes to dashes (lean...). I think its a ground issue...pwr source issue or a bad gauge.
Thougths? Again, if you could share the proper pwr source location that would be helfpul!!

When it goes to dashes its "over limit". That means its out of the range of what the gauge can read. That means its VERY lean, and close to miss-firing or is doing a lean miss/pop.
You can take the power and ground right from the D/C power outlet on the dash. Eric

Where are you drawing power from for the gauge? Is it from the red/white wire by the key switch? If so that will cause the gauge to go to "---" on it.

Thanks for all the input. I noticed the ground wire is very small...replacing that. I will check the wire color tonight that I am drawing from...where do you guys suggest we tap into power at (color/location,etc. would be great!)
My first ride yesterday...thing is flat out fun to ride with the MPI kit on it!! WOW!

Wait until you go with more. I once heard that boost is addictive. IT IS.

Why would it do that? and where should it be drawn from?Srxspec said:Where are you drawing power from for the gauge? Is it from the red/white wire by the key switch? If so that will cause the gauge to go to "---" on it.

Thanks Allen...spoke to Allen and he suggested the wire loom on the clutch side (red with yellow stripes) in a harness that go nowhere...apparantly the switch is not stable pwr.
