Im aware of the technique ...just gathering info to determine how much to order of a specific product ; )

I always just bled mine from the radiator. I think I remember my MTX taking a full gallon.

Same here, bleed from rad. and used 1 gallon and a little water wetter. Also tried Engine Ice last year and my sled ran too cool, if that is possible? This was on a 08 mtx.

Service manual says 4.97 us qt for
FX10MT/FX10MTR/FX10MTRA
Only warning on Engine Ice is make sure you drain you system completely and its good down till -27F. On a trip last year I seen -30F over night and checked my coolant bottle and it seemed fine, no slush. Stuff works great but is expensive $$$$$!
O ya, engine ice is also safer for the environment. You can drink it but I would not recommended it
For bleeding I put my skis on the tailgate of my truck and just add though the rad. cap. I did it this way because I have a ramp for my truck and loaded it up all the time.

to bleed completely you'll to put the sled at extreme angles like on a tailgate. I lift the front and run it till the thermostat opens and add then run with the tail up again and do the same.

thanks for the help..
I have a stand...lifting the rear is easy but with it torn apart the front is difficult..
do I have to lift the front..and run it to get it all out?

i'd recommend lifting the front to get out all the air bubbles. otherwise when you go riding the first time it will burd itself and then you'll just have to fill it some more. not a bid deal just have antifreeze on hand and don't go far till you get it all burped out.

This may sound like a stupid question but I just got done putting everything back together after taking the tunnel off to get powdercoated, and when I pulled off the coolant lines to the radiator some coolant did spill into the area right behind the motor by the headers. I soaked it up as good as possible but now when I start it, it's smoking once it warms up. Would that be from the coolant evaporating in that area or is it something i should be concerned with. I just wanted to make sure because we're planning on going on a trip this weekend and I don't want to have anything go wrong....Thanks
