I'm looking at putting the mtx skis on my xtx as well. Reading other threads, there was some discussion that these skis have changed over time? Are these current ones sold by Yamaha what I want?

Has anyone tried the Yamaha ski skins for the stock ski? I assume the handling would be at least as bad as the stock ski, but I've never tried them.

Stock loops (handle) will work. Your ski rods will work also. You should be able to find used skis or new take offs much cheaper than new. I dont believe there is any real difference in different part numbers across the Nytro MTX years. I am on my second set of MTX skis. First set took some abuse but the second set was cheap so I changed them.

Perfect, don't need to buy new carbides, don't need to buy new handles! Saving lots of money going with the MTX ski for sure! Thanks manStock loops (handle) will work. Your ski rods will work also. Isn't the hardwear all the same weather you run the MTX ski or stock XTX ski? First pic is the MTX, second pic is the XTX. All of the hardwear is exactly the same, so I can just put the MTX ski on my XTX by using all the hardwear that's already on my XTX, correct?

No. You need longer bolts and spacers for MTX skis to spindle mounting.
