my wife is 5-1, 105 lbs. she loves her 09 fx nytro for the up front riding style and the stand up riding she does. she really likes the power steering idea. question is, is going to the apex-vector with power steering worth giving up the way she rides?

At her size would a Phazer not be a better choice?

If she has gotten use to the power of a nytro...a phazer is not gonna impress her much.
Is the steering effort the only reason for her considering a different sled?

tried the phazer at felt she gave up to much. and yes power steering is the only reason she would change

Stock skis on the sled now? What all is done to the sled?

I feel like a broken record, but revalving the rear shocks really helped on my old nytro. Even with C&A Pro Razors, it steered much much easier after the revalve.
The seating position on the nytro is really nice, so I would try getting the shocks valved before switching to a vector/apex with power steering.
Heck, maybe in 2013 they nytro will have power steering... it needs it more than the vector/apex ever did IMO.

Look at the chart in this thread. It should help.

You could also pull the rear limiter straps down a notch...it worked for me.
If she sticks to riding the trails, I HIGHLY recommend a pair of Kimpex Arrow skis.

I can't even imagine how someone 105lbs rides a Nytro, I really can't.
I also have 6.9s with a stiffer center spring and steering is far from hard. She needs to set on the apex/vector and see if shes comfortable. Standing can be done but not like she is used to. Its a trade off for sure. I would get a dual rate hygear or schmidt bros spring and revalve for the center shock. Night and day. I have hygear springs and Goodwin shock revalve and love it. I dont think I could go back to a set down sled.
