Hi everyone getting that time of the year again where I can start to play. Planing a bigger trip north this winter so I'm looking at adding on some storage to my 09 nytro. Local dealer has a tank bag that he's willing to let go at cost to move it out. I'm just wondering how it actually mounts. There's a couple of snap buttons on it but non on my sled. Is there's supposed to be some extra add on buttons with the kit or am I missing something here. Went out after I got home in the dark and there wasn't any on my sled that I could see.

Had the sled for 6 years now and finally starting to add accesories. Better late then never I guess lol.. If it weren't for the big trip I would probably still get by fine but looking at packing gear and clothing for a 1,000 mile round trip possibly longer if we keep going north.

I have the same tank bag...
Yes the bag should come with the other end of the buttons which you have to rivet to the tunnel...

Ok, what's the odds they were inside the bag itself? I didn't open it up but there was nothing in the package at all. It had been opened at one time and the other one had no bag.

On a side note how do you like it?

Thanks

I guess the only way to find out is to go to the dealer and see if the hardware is in the bag...

This is my tank bad, Is this the one you are referring to ?

I ended up going with this one due to it being the biggest tank bag available for the nytro, I also have the trail tank and WRP seat and it fits great, the only issue I have is sometimes a button will come undone, but it’s no big deal...

Was just throwing the question out there, should've checked inside but was in a hurry at the time. Thought it might be common practice for them to put the extra pieces inside. Next time I'm back in town I'll stop by again and see what's up with it.

That's the same bag yes. Also looking at/for the premium trunk bag too. Getting a little bit harder to find some of that stuff at the dealers though. Was looking for a set of fuel caddy's but no one I've talked to so far has them In stock Seen a few on kijiji but they're quite a ways away too. Hoping to put a trail tank on mine as well as a couple extra gallons of gas on the back. Shooting for as close to 200 mile range as I can get so I've got a little extra comfort while I'm back in the middle of no where.

I have the same bag but had issues with the forward mounting hooks. My trail tank and wind deflectors are in the way. Do you have a close up of how yours turned out?
Thanks

I went with the smaller tank bag as I have five yamaha bags total (two on rack, tank, windshield, trunk) and wanted the clear sleeve on mine for maps. Yours looks good though.

Sevey i also had the wind deflectors but decided to take them off, didn’t like the look of them and with the trail tank the plastic hooks don’t work so i just cut the hook part off of the tank bag and left the plastic behind the bag for extra strength, I heated a punch so the frabic won’t come apart and made a whole through the frabic and plastic on each side of the bag where the hood fastens are, it works great this way.

The only thing is that this will only work with the longer fasteners that come with the wind deflectors

I used the dzas fasteners that came with the side wind deflectors.

Well the missing pieces were indeed inside the bag. Even some fancy instructions lol. Now I just have to find time and get the sled back in the shop so I can get it mounted up.

Good to hear, I figured it would be in the bag...

Just don’t mount it to tight or the buttons will pop off from time to time...

I’m actually thinking of using different fasteners to the tunnel instead of the buttons...

Thanks for the tip. Won't have to rely on my brothers and friends to carry my pop and food on the shorter day trips now hopefully lol.

I thought I had pictures of my set up but can't find them. I'll be out in the shed later in the week and I'll snap a pic for ya. I have the trail tank also and have the tank bag installed in the same way it would be with factory tank.
Great accessory, offers lots of storage!

Ok here's a real stupid question that I feel dumb asking lol. What all in the button kit is a guy supposed to use? Do you just rivet the actual male button onto the tunnel or do you use the little backer plate with the pin sticking out of it as well. Instructions say to drill a 1/8" hole for the river. That little pin measures .1650 or somewhere in there. Seems to me like that backer plate is only used for clothing or vinyl or something like that.

Hopefully someone will stop laughing at me long enough to give me a answer lol.
