Just bought a new 2013 Nytro FX
1st Yamaha and 1st 4 stk after 30+ yrs riding Polaris.
I bought the sled sight unseen new non current and haven't picked it up yet.
I believe my sled uses a Ripsaw2 single ply fully clipped track??
I'm planning on 120~144 studs, will be staying in the middle and will be running the stock tuner skis.
Looking for those that ran the tuner ski/Rip 2 equipped Nytro for how they studded and carbided last yr??
Amount of studs/stud height/backers/carbide length/type/how much and on which keel of the tuners.....that sort of thing.
I assume the single ply Ripsaw2 needs single ply specific studs...as in large head style?
I'm a sporty trail rider riding hard packed ON trails.
I prefer some oversteer.
I'm hopeful the Ripsaw2 will work a LOT better than the original Ripsaw...which I hated on my lst couple sleds!!
I want decent traction but not full kill hookup and I assume the Nytro needs all the help it can get preserving steering when studded??

I have a 2012 XTX with 114 studs and tuner skis with a 4" on inside and 0 on outside. I have also run a 4" and 2",but a lot of inside ski lift at speed so went back to a 4" and 0 to try and keep her down more. She pushes in corners sometimes due to snow conditions. definitely glad I have the studs though as we get a lot of ice in New England on occasion.

Congrats on the new sled! First thing all the old timers on here are going to say is to put your location in your profile. I can't answer your questions but I am sure there are many people on here who can and will. This site is awesome with so much info and helping people. Good luck!

i have a 2012 with ripsaw and non tuner skis and my buddy has a 2013 with ripsaw 2 and tuner skies and we both run 2 studs per window in a repeating v pattern and his handles way better with stock carbide configuration. it still pushes a tiny bit but is very predictable and way less twitchy than my setup. i believe with the 2.86 pitch that ends up being 86 studs going 2 per window. we both use 1.375 studs with plastic backers and he has aluminum tall nuts. very trail friendly setup. i can't comment on any other carbide setup as i have only driven his stocker. hope that helps a bit.
