let me take it for a day and I'll return it bent!

hehehe. come to norway then.

I hear your guys frustration and I totally agree. It will make me think real hard before I buy another Yamaha!

There is a possible way to verify the claim of a material change between `09 and `10 subframes. Take both frames to a local scrap dealer. Most places should have a hand held device used for checking the chemical makeup of different alloy's. They use this to determine the differences between metals to be sure they're not giving top dollar to something worthless. It will tell you the chemical makeup and then you can take that info to the web and find the alloy that most closely matches the data. Scrape a little paint from the gusset area of both frames and they should be able to give you a reading without cutting into anything.

Really though it's not going to help with the subframe's bending, but it is always good to have information in your arsenal.

I have the capability of doing a hardness test on them which will give me a good idea of the composition being used. I don't know if I want to go through the trouble of verifying what I believe I already know. From what I've heard the 2010 still bends so a material change is irrelevant. I'm going to strengthen it myself.
