I have an 06 Nytro and every time I start it up Temp light will stay on for about a minute or so at idle, if i rev it up a little it will shut of sooner. my buddies rx-1 doesnt do this. Is it possible it not really pumpin water till I give it a little gas or just a bit schitzofrantic like idiot lights on cars can be.

Leave the throttle alone. That's the best way to foul your plugs. This is normal. It's a circuit designed in the sled that raises your initial coolant temp up.

Start it up, let it idle and wait until the light goes out. Once it goes out, then you're good to go.

Until the light clears, there is a rev limit invoked. This precludes cold-seizer. So reving it to warm it up quicker, kind of defeats the purpose of this desirable feature.

Also, do you have an Operator's Manual? The warning features are explained in that book. I might be able to find a link to one, if you do not have the hardcopy.

Found it. CLICK HERE for link to On-line Operator Manuals Then put in your sled info, etc.

thanks guys, I just wasnt sure what light was doin. I had wrecked sled pretty dam bad on 1st day of ownership at 31 miles. After hitting a huge ditch head on at 70mph, surprisingly only real damage was foward bulkhead let go and EVENLY! pushed steering linkages into oil pan putting a whole in it, sucking in a lil H2O and damaging 2 valves. I rebuilt valves and repaired sled for UNDER $1000 less $77,000 broken leg repair ( including cosmetic numerous plastic pieces!!!!) WITH ALL NEW PARTS INCLUDING BULHEAD! Well anyway finally got sled rebuilt and really aint had chance to put many miles on it and wasn sure if water pump was working quite right seeing how after engine tear down, 2 kerosene washes and 2 oil changes to completely get every last drop of water out of oil areas in motor. And if ur wondering how I got CHEAP,CHEAP NEW OEM PARTS check out cyclepartswarehouse.com. Guys in TX but has best prices Ive found on new OEM parts. And I had 1 1/2 years of not being able to walk to find cheap parts. Shipping kinda high for only getting 1 or 2 parts from him but if u buy in bulk, ur good. his shipping pricing goes in $ amount increments not by weight or size .

I would have to say, your incident adds new definition to the phrase "Ditch Banging!" Eh? Speed Kilzzzzzzz!

Good luck with the leg. :)
