nytro vs xp

No question that these things pop a mean punch right off the get go. I am not out here to argue with anyone, just telling it how it happened.

The Nytro is in the 600 class so what will it do to the XP 600? If you put the XP 800 and Nytro on the tight and twisty bumped out trails the Nytro just handles that stuff better. The only sled close is the Polaris 600RR

Are you for real, you think the nytro out handles the 800r xpx in the rough, man you must be racing a bunch of wimps,if they have any kind of xpx that is set up,i have never found anything that goes thru the 2 and 3 footers like this xp does, and i have had all the yammies, poos cats and now doo,no contest, and my 800 tonight just ran a slow 108 gps on a very rough snow covered lake, and it was still pulling hard, when ever i could find a good patch of hard snow/ice,some people have googles on,day and night.

It's all in the hands of the rider if you ask me. I had a Blair Morgan Rev 800 X for 4 years, and although that sled was amazing in the rough, the FX Nytro RTX is even better ! I haven't had a good chance to test an XP X out in very rough terrain, but from the ride I did have on one, I found the Yamaha was sharper in the turns and the suspension felt better as well, much stiffer both front and rear. Both myself and another wacky rider I know said the XP had too much transfer and was too soft in the rear, even on hard settings. Lofting the skis all day gets old in a hurry !

Thats why i wrote set up xp,i have not ridden it stock as far as springs go,and i now have it turning very well, even with the 5.7 pilots on,its all about getting your ride set up for your style of banging, and i love to bang thru the holes, and i have had lots and lots of sleds over 40 years of riding, and all i can say, buck for buck this new xp needs less to make it go thru the crap than any sled i have ridden, that goes for yammies, cats and poos.

They are all stock XP X's and the suspension is very soft even on the hard settings. The 800's are fast not going to argue with that but out of the box the suspension is just not up to par. I had a Rev 800X last year again stock but the suspension was still soft but not as soft as the XP X's. The 07 XRS was the best big bump sled Ski-Doo has come out with to date to bad they didnt put that suspension in the XP and beef up the chasis maybe I would of actually picked up my spring order X. Instead picked up an RTX and that suspension out of the box is comparible to the XRS as stiff as you want it and can soak up whatever you throw ot it. Both are great first year sleds but there is no way on the XP to stand and keep your feet locked in the toe holds are to far forward and yes the XP did turn better than the Nytro until the Nytro was set up. It used to do everything wrong in the turns now it just plain rails them

These guys, who are avid racers and huge air enthusiasts, have theirs set up pretty good with stock suspension, which is what I was referring to, but still not even close to out of the box settings. And we all ride pretty hard too, we adjust our sleds for very rough riding with only what they come with, a few of the guys do 30 and 40 foot drops, and 40 and 50 foot gaps are not uncommon either. I just found the XP was soft in the rear for an X model that's all, which led to too much transfer and ski lift. Hopefully I'll get a better chance to test one out soon, I really like the sled, almost bought one actually. On the other hand, the FX Nytro RTX does everything well when set up properly, and Yamaha finally made a sled truly capable of handling big hits, so I'm more than satisfied with my decision to try something different. Still, either way, I think both sleds are great machines.

My friend put a 1.25 track on his XP 800 and we ran today. Both of us had hook up issues but when we both hooked up about the same way the XP 800 spanked my Nytro hands down. Not even close. Maybe off the line we are close for the first 50 feet but that is it. Better stick to racing 07's and 600-700 guys. I would love to bash the XP but it is incredibly fast. I ran Apex's the last two years and was neck and neck with the 07 Rev 800 and I know when I am beat.

I would love to see a XP hand me my #*$&@,I just dont see it happending. Not in a short run anyways. If you have your Nytro set up right and now how to ride it will stay with the XP in the trails for sure,Cant get no better ride then the Nytro. Bumps disapear from under you.

The #*$&@ handing was done with a stock XP - only mod was a 1.25 track. Same studs as I have, actually less due to the XP having a slightly shorter track. Length under 1/4 mile Radar run track on a lake in Mercer, WI.

The Nytro stock will losein a drag race. I lost every race but one. I also ran two Nytro RTX's. Mine and my wifes. On the trails rough stuff that is completely different story. Drag race on the lake. A drag race is where the Nytro can not stay with the XP. Races are won at the finish line, not at the first 100 feet where the Nytro pulls the hardest. Everyone needs to focus on the 600 and 700's with the Nytro. My Apex's also got spanked by the Mach Z's last year on the lakes in stock form.

Last year I seen Apexs staying with Machs all the time,I dont know. But this Nytro Pulls your damn arms off!

You better start lifting some weights then, lol

If you drove a sled set up for drag racing you would be laying on your back if you can't hang on to a stock nytro.

We have an xp in our group to compare the nytro to as well. As everyone else has said for the first 100 - 200 ' they are even then the rev starts to pull away. The reason the nytro feels like its pulling your arms off is because it developes its torque sooner then the 2 stroke.

Its like comparing a gas truck to a newer style diesel, they just have that torque to get their momentum going quick.

The rev xp is quick weather guys like it or not, funny thing is though its not fast. They hit a wall at 100 mph and they don't want to pull much after that at all. If you are on your nytro out on a lake at 70 mph and roll into it you will stay right with the xp.
