Usually people just get mountain skis, but these might be a good short term solution.

Yes ...I realize that u can get the mountain skis which is what I originally wanted, but the dealer said that these new skins r as good or better and much cheaper...ad u can remove or put them on easily depending on the conditions u r running in....think I am going to give them a try ....

ski skins
i bought a pair for my 2009 nytro from the yamaha dealer last year. got em both for 80 bucks then bought the bergstrom triple point scags and shim kit. it was way cheaper then buying new skis. the bergstrom skegs work great for handling havent had a chance to try the ski skins as i bought them at the end of the season but they slip over the stock skis and the skegs hold them on lots of floatation and the dealer couldnt tell me but the directions say them come in 6, 8, 12 inches wide. luckily i got the 8 in
