09 Nytro XTX
Does anyone know what the extended length of an 09-14 Nytro XTX center skid shock is? The only info I can find online is for the 09 RXT, which has a different part number than the XTX for the center shock, stating that that one is 12.83". Thanks!

I believe XTX is 12 3/8" long, it is different length the than the shorty. Do you need to know right now, I have one on the shelf at home but, will not home till sunday night if you can wait.

My center shock broke, I can't find that shock anywhere new or used & it's back ordered from Yamaha until forever from now. I can't measure what's left of my shock accurately (shaft bent & broke, shock body is bent, spring got bent, just a mess), so I was looking to see if any other Yamaha shocks would be close enough for short term use & wanted to know the length. Have a trip planned early next week, so was trying to put something together than can be here by Friday. Disappointing that Yamaha has zero in stock. Anyone have any suggestions?

Ebay?
Barn of Parts
I think you can get Fox Zero pros for the track

BOP didn't have one, Lane didn't have one, nothing on ebay right now. I did see the Fox shocks on SBM & Carver's sites, was going to look into those options tomorrow. Thanks for the suggestions. Any other Yamaha salvage shops that deal with newer sleds that anyone knows of?

I have an RTX and I know the shock is different, but I didn't like the shock on the front of the skid so I bought a Fox Zero Pro and never looked back. It rides great. If you can find one that's the right size, I'd recommend it. Good luck, nothing worse than a mid-season break down!

Yep, not exactly thrilled, but #*$&@ happens. I've been pretty much problem free til this, just turned 12,000 miles, so I can't really complain I guess. I'll make a couple of calls tomorrow on the Zero Pros.

i used a shock off a 2007 nytro on my 2009 xtx. The track wore the eyelet on my orginal shock found this one on ebay and it works great. shock was same length and bolted right in.

there's been a lot of good things said about the zero pro shocks, probably best bang for your buck and better than stock unit.

If your sourcing an aftermarket shock, whatever the shock length is on the XTX take 1/2" off, and use that length.
Then when your limiter straps blow you won't destroy your rear suspension.

Ya, that's good advice. When I had the stock shock rebuilt/revalved, I had an internal stopper installed to shorten the travel for just this reason, but that didn't help when the shaft snapped and the free (top) end caught on the track. I happened to be going pretty slow at the time, so the track only made it around maybe a couple of revolutions, but it still did some minimal damage to it. I have my limiter straps reinforced/doubled up as well.

Rx-1 front skid shocks fit with no mods. Overall length is a little shorter ran one last season with no issues in my xtx.

I have a complete XTX suspension in my garage, I'll measure the rear shock length tonight and post the length. If you need any parts I have them
