Before I open the chaincase up, what size is my chain? 13 plates? 15 plates?

Mine is an 08 RTX and it has 13 plates. (68 links) Read up on how to put the cover back on, it is not THAT hard but, you need to know the process for the reverse linkage, and be in a patient, gentle mood. Have fun.

Great thread, particularly for getting it back together. Oh that reverse can be a pest. When you are ready to put the cover back on, take a break and relax and clear your head. It will take you 20 minutes to line it up the first time. Then you can do it 50 times in a row with no issues. Funny how that works.

OK 13 plates sounds right, but how many splines are there on the top gear? I want to gear my XTX down to 19t from the stock 21t.
