The reason I ask is I have the chance to buy 09 with 700 miles with recalls done, bender clutch kit 2010 subframe and powder hound skis. or 2011 with 700 miles stock. $ 2000.00 difference

the only changes that they have made since 09 have been handwarmers and some BNG. I would go with the 09. mine is great, you wont regret getting the older one

Find out why the 09 needed a 2010 subframe, otherwise save you're $2000.00 and the 09 is a better bet, unless ofcourse you plan on re-selling in the near futur. In that case, the 2011 may be a better deal. Tough to say though

Said he hit a small tree with ski and bent the 2009 subframe not sure if these were weak replaced with 2010. he said that the damage was not very noticeable but you could tell. What about the limiter strap problem and hyfax problem was any of this fixed. I know they change the wheels

price
6000.00 and 8000.00 both have yes extended warranties thought these were good deals for mileage thought 09 could go for 6000 to 6800 and 2011 could go for 8000 to 8800. correct me if I am wrong on what I think is a good price, but would like opinions pleasenatedawgedog said:so if you dont mind me asking how much are these snowmobiles?

this would be my 7th snowmobile in 4 years, 4th fourstroke maybe the 2011 would be a better buy because of resale. I plan on keeping this one but I always say that.

those are good prices, I paid 6500 for my xtx a year ago... but one thing to concider when buying these is most people know that there has been no changes on these sleds since 09 so why would one want to pay 8000 for a '10-'11 when it is the same snowmachine in an '09 for 6000...
I have a '10 subframe and comparing it to the 09 that I took off because I hit a tree and tweeked it a little, visually there is no difference that I could tell but I never took any measurments to confirm, it just bolted right into my 09 bulkhead.
one thing I will tell you tho, Ive had all kinds of snowmobiles over the last 10 years, this was my first 4stroke, every year I was ready to upgrade to the next best thing, once I bought the xtx my thought process has changed, now I just want to make this ride better instead of going to the next best thing, making these nytro's your own unique snowmobile becomes an obsession, this summer Ive bought more aftermarket items for this sled than Ive ever put into my other sleds, probably all of them put together... if it was me I would buy the '09 and use the money you saved to buy some aftermarket goodies! good luck with your decision, either sled is going to be awesome!

Thanks I am leaning in that direction. I know what your saying about obsession my apex was that way for me was nothing left to do but turbo or s/c had almost every aftermarket upgrade that everybody said to get almost 3000.00 worth. sold it for 5500.00natedawgedog said:those are good prices, I paid 6500 for my xtx a year ago... but one thing to concider when buying these is most people know that there has been no changes on these sleds since 09 so why would one want to pay 8000 for a '10-'11 when it is the same snowmachine in an '09 for 6000...

The 2011 skid is different in a few way, where the wheels are are different and there is more wheels on the 2011 as well, there is some sort of strap update in the skid too. Also they moved the mounting point of the rear shock i believe. The springs are also are 1200's i think, either way stiffer than the 09! The spot where the torsion springs ride on the skid is also changed i believe.
I need to replace mine as my shocks are toast now with 4000 miles they need a rebuild or upgrade.
