xtx changes
this is why i love ty yesterday had myself talked into 09, but today leaning towards 2011. because you start adding things up like torsion springs, handwarmers, wheels, limiter strap fix, seems to be alot of head aches that are taken care of. plus the 09 warranty is up in january just found this out 2011 still has 2 years.

skid changes
do you know for sure these things have been done or did you hear second hand. not saying your wrong but would like to be able to confirm. do you know who would know for sure as i read your reply it says i believe and i think. this could very well be what talks me into 2011.Zakre said:The 2011 skid is different in a few way, where the wheels are are different and there is more wheels on the 2011 as well, there is some sort of strap update in the skid too. Also they moved the mounting point of the rear shock i believe. The springs are also are 1200's i think, either way stiffer than the 09! The spot where the torsion springs ride on the skid is also changed i believe.
I need to replace mine as my shocks are toast now with 4000 miles they need a rebuild or upgrade.

It is a tough call!
The idea of spending 2k on more mods is good! There's lots you could do with that money to make this sled perfect for you.
Then again, if the 11 does have upgrades that solve some of the common headaches caused by the xtx, then that is real nice too. And never know if you re-sell.
You have two good deals available which makes it that much harder lol.
Some xtx guys on here may be able to help you out more, someone that is real familiar with both sleds.

If it were my decision. Id go with the 09 and put on a new 2012 Mt.Tamer you end up with a way better ride for the same $$

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but where does one find the microfiche? I just bought a 2011 Nytro and was considering wheel upgrade etc. but maybe I need to look at this first!

Just go to port Yamaha web site and site will offer parts lookup for anything. And if you need anything in my opinion buy it from them ask for Kevin. This guy is a perfect example of customer service, there prices are cheaper for the most part even after shipping.I have a dealership 10 miles from me and they are terrible cant answer questions always ordering wrong parts. Kevin even helped me out when I was installing wahls no slip drivers on my 07 apex rtx without using anti stab wheel kit.

There has been alot of parts changed from 09 to 11. some are just nuts and bolts, but from hearing stories about things coming lose maybe thats why. There must be a reason, so I think I might go with 2011. Same old story buy the latest and greatest, think that goes for any products now days they are always making new and improved. Thanks for everyones input I will let you know how it turns out.

I have never ridden an 09 but the 11's are supposed to coast much better, I think they said it's because the clutch stays partially engaged.

I have a 2011 and I had to do all of the same mods on the 2011 that I had to do to my previous 2008, minus the hand warmer upgrade. With the mileage being close to the same, handwarmers aren't worth $2,000.00. If the 2009 comes with powder hounds, you are already a step ahead. The 2011 still comes with crappy stock skis which you're going to want to throw out anyway.
