i have been planning to purchase & install a rear heat exchanger for my 2007 attak. last year i priced the oem model & i believe it was $220 cnd.
i have contacted my dealer & this year it is $ 426 cnd. i believe it is same one that now comes on the 2009 ltx. my question is does anyone know if there were changes ? there are also tunnel protectors at $100 (ea cnd).
seems like alot of $. any recomendations on where to purchase the aftermarkets in canada ?

I to am in the same boat as you looking to do the same but the cost has sky rocketed. Have you tried diluting your antifreeze yet? I am going to try the 60/40 antifreeze and engine ice for this season as most have said that has cured the overheating problem.
Have you trying calling a dealership in the US and get it delivered?? Just another idea.

See the post here http://www.ty4stroke.com/viewtopic.php? ... it&start=0 about it and especially the last page were he talks about priceing .
I put one on mine. It was before they came out with this newer style. The older style is still around and cheaper I believe. It's not too hard to fabricate your own protectors with stock from Home Depot.
By the way I looked under a LTX yeseterday and no cooler. Maybe it was an 08.

i would assume the one you looked under was an 08.
i am also planning to dilute the antifreeze. but i also liked the idea of the rear cooler melting down some of the ice build up, let alone the assurance of more cooling.
i have seen the posts on cooler protectors, i agree that it will not be hard to fabricate. just surprised at jump in cost. i like to stick with oem while i'm still under exteneded warranty (yami canada gets picky!).
i will check out u.s cost, but our dollar keeps droppin.

Pioneer performance has the OEM coolers and protectors much cheaper than the dealers. Click on this link and then click on "engine".

Check with your dealer. I live in Newfoundland, Canada and the dealer did a recall of sorts with the owners of 07 Attaks. We all had overheating issues and the dealer installed the rear heat exchanger. We were charged only for the labour which was approx. $40.00 cdn. tax included. Good luck.
