Attak Rear Heat Exchanger?

Do you guys happen to know what other years/models will fit the Attak? I'm assuming 06-08 Apex LTX? Others?
Apex Attak: 2006 & 2007. Apex LTX: 2008, 2009 & 2010.

I have not broke one piece..between my wifes LTX and mine in many thousands of hard miles.

They are mounted ahead far on the skid..didn't you see the pic? Do what you want but this advice is from a guy who rides 2k a year as well as my wife who rides with me...those spring ones will bust fast and just don't throw snow as well right into the skid.. my skids get so full ya can't see anything some times. Ha.
Again the duraflex are proven.. and you can get new tips when they were out which hasn't happened yet.
Ok, you have me convinced that Duraflex cables are the way to go. However, I am considering mounting to the idler wheel. They now have kits so you can mount to the idler wheel hole without removing the wheel, thus moving the mounting location further forward. My concern is the scratchers would be scrathing further away from the track this way? Here's the product I speak of on Ebay: https://www.ebay.com/i/163126691650?chn=ps

Believe me you won't need to put them out there and yes they probably wouldn't hang right and get caught on things when not in use.. they throw a ton of snow as shown in pic.. Some of the early cable scratchers got bad reviews and justified so but these are the newest and greatest.. You have to set them right so good down pressure but not hard to hang back. Also keep the cable about an in or so from the track like in pic. I've installed 5 sets on Attaks and Vector LTX and XTX now. I did add a ring to hang them on as after many miles they started leaving bit of a groove on the rail. I used a SS eye bolt so did others here. Also you can add a piece of 1 in aluminum tubing over the rail which takes the wear and can be changed out. Small price to pay for the durability and effect they give.
On a side note you'll have to drill out that bolt hole just a bit..not much at all to take the scratcher bolt.. if you ever take them off you can put in a SS Bolt and no one would ever know.. Ask me how I know.. I've sold 3 Attaks and my wifes 2010 VectorLtX all had 10,000 miles on them.. amazing machines.. this is why I bought a leftover 2016 XTX and the wife got a 2013 vector ltx with 890 miles on it cheap.

My main objective is cooling and I would like to get the cables mounted off the skis or arms or anywhere allowing for max max cooling but all the reports I've read are not convincing on durability. You can buy mounts for the skis that come on and off easily but not sure about that. Same with guys mounting to the arms or bumper which have had strength issues. After further review, I will mount to the bolt hole your referenced and if I even drop 10 degrees on average, I would be happy. The bonus is the prolonged hyfax wear. I have a set of Duponts to go on at some point this season. All of this is of course pointless if we don't get snow. Last year on this date, I was already riding.

I make a slick kit to mount cable scrstchers on skis. Much more effective on the skis. Look under ice scrstchers on my webpage.

Look like I said.. cooling is a non issue with those scratchers.. The snow gets thrown on the side exchangers and packs the rear cooler so you can't see it not to mention the front cooler gets soaked. I don't know who you've been talking to but ask them if they road a 136 in attaks or LTX's for over 30k miles ( me 20k wife over 20k) helping the hyfax is a bonus of it all.
Like I said. I have many miles and maintenance on these machines under my belt. In all of NH's brutal conditions.

Install the rear Yamaha heat exchanger kit if you want good cooling!
I installed the kit in 2015 for just under $300 Cdn from my dealer and may have seen the heat light once since. Also it will stop ice build up in the rear of the tunnel that can let go and shoot forward and rip the lugs off your track and break all the fibreglass internal cross pieces in the track, this can definitely happen!☹️
You will need rad protection of some kind as my 1.25 ice ripper would just nick the rad fins when two up, I made mine from 1 inch aluminum square.
8ft-124a0-00-00 is the kit I used and would highly recommend.

Yes, I appreciate your experience. Just throwing all the different setups out there for discussion. Thanks again.

I don't agree at all on ski mount is more effective especially if you have a long track and mount the scratchers forward like I did. Since installing cables I've never over heated or burnt hyfaxs. That's proof for me and no complicated hookups or loosing snow thrown in long turns or twisty woods trails.
If you go that way make sure you get cable ones.. the spring ones shown above will break on you cause you will back up and forget that's a fact. And I've run spring ones and they bend after a long day or break. These cables are a miracle.
