Ive tried hitting the mode button to access the shock symbol to adjust my ohlins ec shock on my 06 apex gt. but when i hit the mode button it doesnt switch from the fuel display to the shock symbol. The other 2 buttons on the digital display work fine but when i push the mode button nothing happens. Wont switch to allow me to adjust the ec shock. Any ideas?

Broken wire in the tunnel!! I've done it more than once!!!

If its broken it must be up inside the tunnel footwell area? Ill check it once it thaws out. Good thing i dont need my compression adjusted! How hard is it to replace? Whats your method?

The Ohlins EC sub-lead can be repaired (it is only 2 wires).......as long as it is not ripped out of the solenoid at the bottom of the shock.
The sub-lead harness is about 3ft long and runs from the shock, along the front pivot arm, through the tunnel, than up to another 2-pin white connector up near the the reverse shifter.
One you have it thawed out and problem found (which is probably a broken sub-lead harness) follow the attached routing proceedure for the wire. This was a Tech update put out by Yamaha a few years ago.

Awesome. Im thinking its not broken at the shock but somewhere else. I can pull the cable out of the little hole in the tunnel about 3" then it stops. So is there a connection between the white 2 pin connector by reverse lever and the hole in the tunnel? The last 2 mornings ive had a huge chunk of ice dangling from the cable along the tunnel by the hole. Take a little handheld torch and melt it away and push the cable back in the hole. Today i tried to gorilla tape it to the inside of the tunnel to atleast try and hold it in place till i get around to working on it.

Small harness coming off shock solenoid at bottom of shock (about 3 inches long) plugs into the longer sub-lead harness (about 3 ft long). Sub-lead harness runs along front pivot arm, through tunnel and up to another connector, which is just to the left of the reverse shifter handle. So that is the only plug connections, behind the reverse lever (1) and into the shock solenoid harness (2), which will be right near the shock.
As far as securing the harness to the tunnel. Inside the tunnel (by track) there is a bendable clip that is riveted to the tunnel. On the inside (behind chaincase and radiator) there is also a bendable clip securing harness to tunnel.

Ok cool. Ill check it out here once i thaw it out this wknd. Thanks for the info. I know the clips your talking about and the one inside tunnel is tight and holding cable. Cable moves from that point to the hole in tunnel. Thanks again.

Cool. Yeah i have that suspension out before so i know where these are located. Mayb theres a loose connection at the solenoid connector. Thanks.

Check the fuse for the EC shock. I believe if the fuse is blown the shock adjustment function will not appear on the display.

I believe it is in a separate black plastic holder near the coolant bottle? The schematic shows it as a 10 amp fuse.

Here are some pictures of the EC shock fuse location and the EC shock wiring harness connector (which is the white electrical connector below the fuse box). If the EC shock fuse is blown then you will need to find the reason. The most likely reason would be a chafed/shorted wire somewhere in the wiring harness, most likely in the area where the harness travels from the skid frame through the tunnel.
