Ohlins Shock wire

My Ohlins rear shock stopped working a week or so ago a I found this,

Is there suppose to be a connector on the single wire attached to the shock? Also should there be another wire and what do the rubber parts on the wire do(between the shock and tunnel)?

It looks like the zip tie slipped off the shock letting it hang and eventually get cut, for those of you that have this shock I suggest adding another tie or at least checking it.

Also will running the sled with the shock wire like this hurt it? I believe when it broke it was set at hard, but it has been bottoming out a little more than usually.

Won't hurt anything. You're adjustment will just be stuck in the position the solenoid was at when the wire broke. If you've been bottoming more than normal, it's probably time to have the shock rebuilt though.

The rubber pieces on the shock wire are there to fasten around with zip ties. They prevent chaffing of the wire insulation. Use a butt load of wire ties when you repair your wire connection. The less movement that you have in that wire the better.

I bought a bag of wire zip ties and wen to town when I put my rear skid back together.

The price the dealer wants for that wire is a fricken joke $60-70 depending on where you buy it.

i went to the autoparts store, and made a custom wire for mine, could not see spending 74 bucks for the harness. when I was done i have 12 bucks inall of it, I can make alot of harnessess and keep spares, with money to spare
