Oil brand and weight preference

I Prefer Amsoil 0w- 40 full synthetic just out of preference used the 2 stroke stuff for years with good results good price also.

When I changed oil last season I used Mobil-1 0W-30 But I could not find it this year so I just went with the Yamaha 0W-30 semi synthetic.

Id go with any synthetic but I would stay with the same grade.
There nothing wrong with Yamalube, but the last time I checked it was only available in semi-synthetic. Thats the only part about Yamalube I dont like.
Amsoil is nice, as is Mobil 1. Castrol Syntec is good too. I used to use Castrol Syntec in my '91 Toyota 4Runner and I pulled some of the best milage ever on that rig with Syntec in it and it just seemed to run a little bit better.
The only oil I would avoid is Pennzoil. Its junky oil, in my opinion.

Same situation here except I switched to Mobil 1 0W-40.

Looking to see what people are having the best luck with.

Brand doesn't matter -- oil is oil.

Personally, I use the Yamaha oil and filter.

I agree. What's it matter if you're still gonna trade it in anyway? "Longevity" - yeah right. It's still just another disposable ride, until the next big thing.

BTW: I use the Yamalube. I see no reason to deviate otherwise.

oil type

Not sure but running the mobil 1 5w 30 might not be a good idea as this oil and most automotive oils have the little symbol friction modified.. This is not good for engines with with slip clutches such as the yammie ultrmatic atv's etc.. Also the four stroke yammie sleds have a slipper clutch for the starter and they do a NOT reccomend friction modifed oils for these engines..
