oil filter change

hi, was wondering how often do you guys change your oil filters on your rx1s, i just changed my oil and filter before summer storage. i was reading in the yamaha service manual that every 20000 kms, was sufficent or seasonal. i can understand the seasonal part, but 20000kms? this seems like a long time. with my quad and auto i change my filter with every oil change. anyways just wanted to get some feedback on what you guys do. i am green to these four stroke sleds, so sorry for all the questions.always owned a 2 stroke.

I change oil and filter every season, not a big job and should prolong engine life. I also change the chain case lube every season, easy job as well.

because snowmobiles operate in a dust free environment, the oil filters will last much longer than in other applications. you can skip a yearly filter change and just do the oil without problems. this answer will be followed by many that disagree.

 

[Sled Dog]

I change my oil and filter every spring so the sled is put away with a clean filter and clean oil. In the following winter it is ready to go.
