the other day i was in jackman me. and my nytro kept overheating :o| . checked anti freeze level in overflow bottle and all was well with that. so i opened the rad. cap and noticed a little bit of oil floating on top of the anti freeze. then i opened the cap to the over flow bottle and there was a couple drops of oil in there also, does that mean i have a bad head gasket or could there be some other problem. any thoughts or ideas would be much appreciated. thanks in advance

Very possible it's a head gasket.

Brought the sled to f and s Yamaha and they ran a couple different test. One to see if the coolant system would hold pressure and the other was to see if it held oil pressure. Both turned out fine even after they heated the motor up and it shut off automatically. I put 2400 miles on this year and all seams to be fine with the sled but I hate not having an explanation as to why this happened. Oh yeah, they changed the oil and the coolant two times while running the tests. other than that hiccup the sled runs awesome. Hoping to break 11000 miles on the sled this year.

That makes me feel better knowing it was test and everything is find. I have done the samethings to my nytro now And can't find where the oil has come from.

What year nytro do you have, mine is an 08. On warm days the heat light comes on and I have to shut it down for for 10 minutes. Even with that happening to me this year I still have not gotten any more oil in the antifreeze.

It really sucks when you can't find a definite answer as to why this kind of stuff happens. At least your not finding any more oil in the antifreeze. Does your sled overheat on warmer days? I'm installing one of those instument panel vents now to see if that would help the sled from getting hot.
