Hi guys!
I just put on 200 km after I replaced my headgasket from a bad overheat lastyear. Just noticed that there is oil in the coolant and seems to be running hot fan stays on all the time. I also replaced the thermostat when I changed the headgasket. Any ideas? maybe something going on with the waterpump?

did you flush out the cooler and the rad? engine block? got all the air out of cooling system?

When you replaced the head gasket was the head inspected for any cracks or for warpage?Hi guys!

Yes flushed it out with water then I ran it with the cap off for 10 minutes then filled the rad to the top. I inspected the head with a straight edge didn't seem warped. Couldn't see any cracks. Just dumped the coolant looks like it has alot of oil in it

get a pressure tester and see if it holds pressure rating on cap. should hold for a couple of min at least.

Yes thanks gonna grab one off a buddy from work. Just doesn't make sense why it's running so hot and oil getting in the coolant

What caused the previous overheat?

I'm not entirely sure. Just got super hot and shut down. Thought it was the head gasket due to oil in the coolant also but I'm guessing it might be something else it did throw the pto crank bearing lastyear but I replaced the whole hub assemblyWhat caused the previous overheat?

Still runs I assume. Let it run and get warm, check that rad and heat exchangers are getting hot so you know they are in order. Might want to test for combustion gases in the coolant. https://www.amazon.com/Block-Tester...jbGlja1JlZGlyZWN0JmRvTm90TG9nQ2xpY2s9dHJ1ZQ==
Do you see coolant in the oil?

Waiting for the test kit to be delivered. Holds pressure in the rad dropped 1 psi in 5 minutes. No coolant in the oilStill runs I assume. Sounding less like a head gasket, but getting the tester to be sure is certainly a good idea. Hopefully it will be negative. Is so, look for a restriction in the cooling system. Bad thermostat, collapsed hose, damaged heat exchanger, etc.

might just be residue in the system but does not explain why it is getting hot. pressure test is good though.

Did you check the head with a straight edge and feeler gauges? I had a Nytro that was overheated badly, the head was out like 9 thou, had to get it machined.

Did you check the radiator to make sure it's not plugged? If there is oil getting into the coolant it would only happen at a point where the oil pressure is higher than the coolant pressure. Head gasket and oil cooler are the only two areas that come to mind. The water pump's rear bearing runs in oil but there is no oil pressure against the shaft seal and it's designed that if a pump seal fails it leaks out a weep hole.
Unless you used a precision straight edge for checking heads and have experience taking measurements you probably wasted your time. I've done several head gasket jobs and always resurface the head regardless of how far out it may be. Did you replace head bolts and properly torque them?
At this point I'd check the radiator and if OK flush the coolant system to see if it was residue or if there is an issue. When refilling the coolant top off the radiator and fill the overflow to the proper level then run the engine . Top off radiator as it heats up then cap it so that the thermostat opens. After it cools refill radiator and overflow. Run a couple short heat cycles to work out any air in the system.
