I just bought a new 2004 RX1. I have put on about 160 miles. I'm trying to get to know the sled, and noticed a small amount of oil in the air box. Is this just coming from the vent hose? just curious.
On another note, this is my first Yamaha. I have riden polaris for about 10 years. I was out shopping for a new sled, and had all intentions of picking up anouther polaris. I went in to the Yamaha shop, and they offered me a great deal on the 2004. I said what the hell, and bought it right on the spot. I figured I couldn't go wrong buying a 4 stroke. So far I really like the sled, and think I made a good decision.

Yeah, a little bit of oil will come out the vent. If you tip it over on its left side, LOTS of oil will come out the vent. Make sure the level is correct - warm up / run for about 15 minutes, unscrew dipstick and wipe, drop back in DO NOT THREAD IT IN, check level.
