2010 Vector GT 2800 miles to date this season not a drop.

Last weekend found about 3-4 drops of oil mixed with water from melting on the floor couldn't see any traces on the sled.

Anyhow do 75-100 miles no issue no oil loss I could see. Come into the garage this morning 8-10 drops on the floor from sitting the week.

It seems it has come from the air box there is small hole in corner near where the right shcok is.

I can't see any hose that would connect to it ? Should it drain from there ?

Is this normal ? It hasn't been on it's side or anything ?

It's concerning. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Mine is an 08 and there is a hose that attaches to the bottom of the air box but I can't say for all certainty it is on the right side?

It is possible you slightly overfilled your oil tank or did you happen to do some long full lake type runs prior?

Also ensure no other lines/vent hoses are kinked/pinched.

Thanks for the reply.

After looking at it more later saturday. Nothign pinched no lines I can see unattached. There has been oil that has come from the line that attaches to the oil tank. Once I brought the filter into better light you can see the spot of oil.

Now how did it get there ? Been thinking lots about it.

Don't think it's too much oil after 2800 miles.

We have tipped at say a 45 degree angle approx. 4-6 weeks before get ice out of the tunnel but didn't see oil then.

Tipped it about the same trying to cross a large snowbank. That's all I can think of ?

Too hot ? No warning lights at anytime .....

I guess we'll see next year might have to bump this.

I don't want to say with a 100% certainty, but I don't think you have anything to worry about.

Mine drips a bit of oil once in a while.

I was running down a narrow woods trail that had high banks on each side and it was like running a louge (so) track

right on its side from side to side...I figure some oil pumped into the air box and then dripped down.

Once I get at the spring oil change I will have a closer look but the oil level isn't down.

Mine does strange things with oil

Mine did the same, check your oil filter and make sure it is tight.

I found on my vector if the oil level was at the line or above, expect it to snort oil back into the air box which will drip down and leave a oil/water residue on the floor.

Once a year I would pull it apart wipe it out real good and wash the foam filer in gas to disolve the oil out.
