Went out for a 50 mile ride a few days ago and now I have oil leaking from what seems like the air box. I know this is covered many many times but I have already put on 100 miles since my oil change and just now I'm getting oil leaking. I see oil in the breather tube but what else should I look for. I hope it is from the air box and not something more serious.

You would think if I overfilled the oil then I would have had oil leaking sooner

I know in my situation I changed my oil rode around home 2 days and nothing I was just ditch banging . Then hit the trails for a 310 km trip and same thing had oil coming out the breather filters, dealer told me I possibly overfilled so I checked and it was a little over ,drained a bit and it was fine.

Thank you for the reply. Same thing here basiclly. I'll probably clean everything up again and drain a little and hope all is well

The oil tank is vented to your air box. If you were out running the moguls hard, the oil in the tank would be shaking like a rattle can of paint. I have no doubt you moved some oil over into the air box. The oil cooler is on the front of the engine under the air box, the o-ring on mine did leak but the engine had been over heated before I got it.

Just the shaking around and leaning the sled tends to dump oil out of mine. At the end of the year, when I take the skid plate off there is always a good coating on it.

I cleaned it all up and ran it in the garage again after draining about a quarter quart. No leaking as of now. It just a terrible feeling seeing oil on the floor
