Looking for direction on something I came across tonight. First ride of the season. Sled seemed like it had a fouled plug type of symptom right from when I unloaded it off the trailer. It was really boggy. Stopped about a mile down the trail. Pulled my hood and noticed oil leaking out of the air box. No lights came on or anything. I did top off the oil this past week when servicing. I checked the oil level with out screwing in the dip stick like your supposed to. It was just barley over full. Could that be the cause of oil in my air box and possibly fouling a spark plug????? Sled has 2,200 miles on it. Any help on if anyone else out there had had this problem? Thank you

Owning a fleet of nytros I can tell you first hand if your anywhere close to or over the full mark on the dipstick it will vent oil into the airbox.. I run mine at the lowest level just above the oil sensor on the dipstick.

I threw 3 new plugs in it. What a bitch to do. Not a easy trailside process if it had to be done in emergency. I drained out some oil, A pint at least. I checked the oil level with it warm. Also cleaned the oil out of the air box and cleaned the air screen and foam filter. Fired it up and pured like a kitten. Seems to be running on all 3 cylinders now. Ready to rip! Thanks for the info!

Same issue on mine today, I think I had it over filled cause I checked and filled it when it was cold, put 5 miles on it out back in fields, sat for a week. Went out today and happened to look under an oil everywhere. Air box had lots of oil in it. cleaned it all up. oil tanked was above full, drained some out.. Oil was kinda frothy??? Had to leave it sit for a couple minutes to get a good read on the gauge?

Like the earlier comments, the oil level has to be almost exact to avoid this problem. It's better to be below the line and be safe. Being a good citizens and topping it up just creates havoc. If you change your own oil, I put in the exact amount and don't touch it for the season. That way I don't have any issues.
Checking the oil on these machines is kind of wonky. The oil is a light colour, and the dip stick is cream coloured making it near impossible to see it easily. You are not the only one with this problem. I only did it once, and learned my lesson. Lol

I had the same issue this year also. I changed my oil and Added to much. Went out for a 40 mile ride and got how and parted it in the garage. Came back out and moved the sled over and the ice that was under my sled was brown from the oil. I knew right away that I added to much oil. I should have measured the oil out so it would be perfect. I did that last year and never had a problem. I guess I was just in a rush this year. However it didn't foul any plugs out.
