today i was crossing a road and the oil light came on and the engine shut down.
i opened up and checked the oil level.. perfect
fired it up that was that...
anyone have this happen?
first time for me.

TY 4 Stroke God
Had it happen once this last weekend. In about a minute it restarted and no oil light and everything was ok.

My light came on too, but I lost around 2 quarts of oil.

Happened twice, restarted immediately, and ran perfectly for 50+ miles. First occurrence 500 miles ago. 900 now.

could be a VERY dangerous situation with the sled just shutting off like that.
If there is more of this happening hope everyone will just let us know here..
Maybe yamaha will take a look at it..

This is not the first topic on this subject, tell your dealer, don't just post here. When I posted on the last topic, about 2 weeks ago, I discussed with my dealer and at that time mine was the first time he'd heard about this issue.

I have seen this twice but both times the RPMs dropped below 800 and then died. I believe it is the ECU problem.
