As we all know the oil tanks are prone to cracks and leaks. To help prevent the stress cracks from occuring we are currently developing an isolation kit. All 3 tank mount points will be isolated with rubber grommets. The grommets will allow the tank to remain isolated from vibrations and chassis flex. Below is prototype we have made up to test fit up on various sleds. We intend to have kits ready in a few months.

Get the same effect by using Loctite. Loctite fills in the space that is left in between the threads making the two move as one and reducing the vibrations

Rubber isolators?

Excellent! Keep us posted!

At first I was not able to locate any isolators as pictured with correct sizes nor with an operating temp suitable for extreme cold so I went the grommet route.

I liked the simplicity of isolators, so upon more research I think I have come up with some that are suitable. I have parts on order and will update in a few days.

Parts have arrived and I have done some fit ups to check for clearance. I've finalized on some isolators that will work for all year apex and rx 1 sleds and the early 05-07 rs vectors/rages that run the apex style oil tank. Some of the hoses don't have enough slack to suit me so I need to address that yet.

2006 Apex GT owner here looking forward to learning pricing for an isolator kit and when it may be available for shipment!

Did some figuring today and looking at a $45 retail price for the kit. Kit would include isolators, barbed connectors, and clamps. The connectors would be spliced into hoses that don't have enough slack once the oil tank is relocated. These small components add up rather quick. There are isolators available at nearly a 1/4 the cost of the ones I would supply, however the operating temp range is not suffiecient. How much interest is there for these kits at $45?

I am interested in a kit for my Attak.

I have ordered supplies for a few kits and will have them ready to ship by end of week.

so, the height of the isolators determine how far "outboard" the oil tank gets moved. Are we talking 1/2" - 5/8"?

There is a small relief molded into the plastic grillwork directly above the oil tank. Does your kit introduce any interference with this grillwork? Is there adequate clearance?

I have done trial fits with the panels on and there is clearence for the dip stick by the vent that you pictured.
