OK to run Ohlins Shock PN YA350-- on 08 Nytro RTX

I picked up a set of these Ohlins front shocks tonite, they are part# YA350- Compression adjustable only- no rebound.

Ohlins Springs are 00180-84/23 L333

I measured and they are 17 1/2 inches extended and sitting them side by side with the Floats they are the same length and same mounts. I checked and the part# with Ohlins.com and it said they were for an RX-1.

Any thoughts on running them or not running them???

just a guess but i would say the spring might be a little stout if its for a RX 1.....ok, its somewhat dependant on the damping but the RX was heavier.

can you find out the spring rate ?

I tried some OEM RX1 shocks on mine, a little to much spring. Ohlins might have used a different set up as they usually dampen better and use lighter spring that OEM.

for sure i would give them a go......better than floats IMO

Here are the specs from the Ohlins website for the nytro/apex/rx1 shocks. Notice the length between the rx1 to nytro are close but stroke is different.

I guess I will be the test mule this winter and try them out. I will have my Fox Floats revalved just in case I need a backup plan.

Unless someone else decides they need these shocks, as I will sell them too if I get a good offer.
