I got looking at the Apex again and was sure missing those gold Ohlins. I've always loved those shocks from way back and last year was the first I owned some. The XTX front shocks looked longer so when I measured them I was supprized to find them the same length. Of coarse I thought immediately to switch them...

After I got them off and remeasured I found the XTX shocks became 1" longer. I figuered I could go without an extra inch of rebound to get those Ohlins. Unfortunately the top mount on the XTX has no bushing so they would not fit. I got blinded by the gold to notice before removing them... LoL

Ohlins

I no what you are saying....I miss Ohlins shocks on this sled. I will be looking to change the rears to Ohlins once I get a feel for how I want the sled setup. What really sounds awesome to me is Ohlins recommends 46 mm shock for the XTX rear skid. Eventually I would like them all around.

Ohlins

I think I'll drive the stock shocks for a year and if they need to be rebuilt I'll just buy ohlins all around instead of buying a new sled. Maybe... I always say I'm going to keep this sled for a while then get rid of it a year later. I've got 2 additional years warranty through Yamaha on my purchase deal so I might keep her...
