IceStriker said:Journeyman, thanks for the tip on the Berlin Attak. With miles/condition being the same, do you like that price over an 08 Apex GT LTX?
Actually I can't say that because the 08 Apex GT LTX has 6K+ miles. Not apples to apples. However, I would feel better about getting the Attak GT for under $5K. Looks like a nice one up there in Berlin. Thanks!

Another consideration.... how do or do you trailer your sleds? If so, open or enclosed?
The Nytro with a medium tall or tall windshield WIL NOT fit in a traditional clamshell enclosed without taking off the "hood/windshield" assy.
That was another reason I hated my FX Nytro. Yea, it was only four zeus fasteners, but talk about a PITA taking it off & on in the cold every frickin' time I hauled it.
And we all know, the Nytro has zero wind protection without an accessory windshield & side deflectors.
As far as the standing/sitting goes. I'm 6' 3" 225 lbs. I too get sore hips on a sit down sled. The Apex/Attak is a hybrid. You can do either pretty easily. I stacked a 3" riser on top of an Apex MTN riser for my Apex. I can stand when needed without hunching over. I'd like to add 2-3" onto our Vector too, but my wife rides it a lot, and she's only 5' 1", so if I add to it, it would be too tall for her sitting & she sits 99.9% of the time.
IMO... an Attak for $3800, GT or not, I'd be all over that like Oprah on a baked ham!!

LMAO Catman!

You may be right about the Attak at $3800. Leaves plenty of room for some upgrades, risers and maybe a graphics kit. Not loving the look of the candy red but to each is own. Thanks!

Is it the one listed in Fort Atkinson?
If so, I see it's not a GT. Tunnel adjust rear, not electric. Each as their problems. Electric wire gets broken & cables have been reported to break too.
If I were in the market, I'd be checking it out. At that mileage the exhaust donuts are due, as are the front-end suspension bushings. Keep that in mind & use as a bargaining tool.

Yeh the 40 yr. models seem to bring more $$. The only difference other than color and graphics with the 40 yr. and the '07 GT would be front shocks. I can honestly say I think my 2007 rides as good as my friends 2008 though.

I personally like the 2007 GT in black the best for looks. Mine is the red one and while it looks great being it is so mint I would still prefer black. The good thing is a friend bought a 2007 GT in black that is also mint and he wants to trade panels with me and I'd have my black one. The only thing is we will have to swap A-Arms too and exhaust covers. The seats are the same with the gray down the sides.

We have over 20,000 miles on two 2007 attack GT's and we've never broken a wire there tied up nice and they work fine

So based off reviews here I'm leaning heavily towards Attak now, especially for my budget. Sounds like the best value. In a perfect world I could find a 08 Apex LTX GT for under $5k but that's not happening. Thanks again to everyone for your input. I will update with my purchase decision.

One last thing to keep in mind. Be honest with yourself do you need 150hp that the attak and apex has? If not the vector is a great machine and gets better gas mileage. For example my 07 attak will burn 3 gallons where the 10 vector will take about 2.5 to fill. Not a huge difference but does add up.
But the attak is freaking awesome to ride. I don't think I could go back to a machine that didn't have the power the apex does.

If he came off a Viper and it runs as strong as mine did, he would be better off with the Attak IMO. My father, who is now retired from sledding, and I both had 2002 Viper's that were quite fast. In fact my dad's was an F7 beater, fastest stock Viper I had ever come across. His brother switched back from Polaris to Yamaha when the 4 stroke Vectors came out. He had one carbed model and also the newer one with fuel injection. Neither of these Vectors was even in the same league as our Vipers as far as performance goes. At least that is what our experience was. It all depends what you value in your sled. All I know is my Viper would still put a smile on my face when I hit the flipper from corner to corner and so does this Attak I bought. The engine is so responsive. You won't quite get that sensation with a Vector.

Someone please buy this Apex so I don't have to look at it on CL anymore.

The comments about the power of the attack_apex are spot on for me..I love the power...sometimes I miss the corner to corner of my wifes doo chassis until I ride it for a while...just not for me anymore...but with what you said about changing your riding style a litte and haveing something happen that scared the snot out of you (and anyone for that matter) I would assume you are thinking a llittle about slowing down some...with that said I sure would look at a vector. I would think your fuel mileage would be better and not that much power loss except on that flat out straight aways..
Also not sure what part of WI you are from but pats yamaha in Greenland Mi has been haveing some real good deals on used Vectors and Apexs_attacks the last couple of weeks. I have heard nothing but good coments and reviews of this business. Good luck to ya. I am thinking about changeing sleds this next season also but just can't bear to do away with the motor in the attack and if I was to upgrade in all honesty I would want to try power steering but don't know if I want to drop upwards of $9000 just to get it with a machine that has gave me no real problem and can forsee no real problem in the future.
