ok guys, im on the verge of keeping the phazer, beucause im realizing that their is nothing else out there like the phazer.
what the plans are:
i want to drop a zx2 136 skid into it. but im thinking that im going to need a tunnel extension. is anyone making one to stretch to a 136?
also, where can i get aftermarket balljoints and upper a arm bushing? i also need all the front end bushing.
last question, on the updated starters did the dealers do it under warrantee?
so please guys, i know ive been a PIA, and im sorry, please give me some great info so i can keep this sled!!!!!!!

I am in the same position as you, got so aggreviated back in February I blew a gasket and let it ruin the rest of my season. Since then I have gone back and forth deciding to keep and fix the shortfalls or sell. I have no doubt with the kinks worked out, that this is the best sled for my style of riding. My Rev is great, but the smile factor on the Phazer is hard to beat.
I also will be needing front bushings and ball joints in another 500-700 miles, would appreciate any info on what current owners have done.
If I do keep it, I will be sending the shocks and rear skid to HyGear. Also, looking at lowering the front end a tad.

Ulmer for the bushings and add grease fittings.Glad you all are sticking with Phazer. For balljoints I would try another set of OEM since I believe only some were prone to wear.

i have no clue how to make a grease fitting. i guess i gotta learn how to weld!!!
balljoints, i dont want to go with stock, because they really didnt last that long. i would rather try something new, at least then i dont know what to expect.
cabin, i have shocks that have been revalved and rebuilt. they are great. if you have a FX and you are interested i will trade rear shocks with you, you have to add probably 100$ and pay shipping both ways. these shocks are great, a little stiffer but i never bottom out and the #*$&@ end isnt bucking everywhere out of control.
i also get great transfer from the revalved shocks, can stand it straight up and down.
reason why i would trade is because this thing is getting a zx2 no matter what.
does anyone know about tunnel extensions? know anyone that would build me one?
thanks guys, once again sorry for any past negativity.
FYI i tried out a F7 had cash in hand, took it down the lake and it blew up!!! maybe it was a sign?

Another question on the grease fittings...do they need to be welded or can the hole be threaded and then the grease nipples turned in? Probably not enough steel to do this?
On my list along with the Ulmer bushings this summer.

That is a positive attitude
Post up in Ulmers section in vendor, that you would like a bronze oilite bushing kit for the Phazer. I put one on my Apex and know it is going to last a LONG time...bronze oilite>plastic
Second, I dont consider those ball joints. They are spherical rod end bearings like what is used on industrial equipment. On printing presses they last forever. Those are made with and without grease fittings. GETTING ONES WITH GREASE FITTING WOULD MAKE A HUGE INPROVEMENT.
lastly, should be a warrenty issue with the starter. Best chance would be fall to get a latest design. But get your dealer aware of your issue now.

Teerex put a 136" on his short-tracker without extending the tunnel. He had to put big wheels on it, but the ZX2 comes with 8 inchers. Look his profile up and check his posts, to see the development he went through.

Here's the thread where you can see the difference the big wheels made, along with other opinions, and an easy homemade extension.

ive tried some of both, polaris and cat, impressed but not that impressed. i think i can make the zx2 work pretty swell.
